WOLFS Gallery — Attraction in Beachwood

I enjoy collecting art when I am able to, and recently came across Wolf’s while looking through various versions of a particular statue around the Internet. I was immediately struck by two things, the loveliness and elegance of the Wolf’s website, and the particular excellence of the piece I was interested in that they had.

I spent hours looking all over the Internet at this subject, I found variations ranging from six to sixty-two inches tall, from a couple of hundred to twenty-one thousand dollars. Some seemed nice enough but those had all been sold in auctions. The others were mostly so-so in quality and detail, even the most expensive ones, and honestly most of those were even less than so-so. In the end, only two stood out for me, one with another seller and my first pick at Wolf’s.

I took pictures of both and compared them side by side, and instantly I knew there just was no comparison. I realized that even though it probably cost more, the one in Wolf’s Gallery was head, shoulders and torso above all the other and all the rest. Looking through Wolf’s site it became obvious to me that this was not a fluke—the gallery represented a very fine quality of art across the board, and I became afraid I might not be able to afford the piece, and now my heart was set on it for my collection.

Preparing myself for the the worst, I emailed the Gallery and was quickly contacted by a friendly and polite woman who gave me further information about the piece, along with the more detailed pictures I requested. From there she directed me to speak with the owner, Michael Wolf.

As soon as Michael answered the phone, I was relieved. He was charming, kind, understanding and very informative, and I knew art was not just a business for him, but a lifelong love that he enjoyed sharing with everyone he met. Together we were able to work out a very fair price for me on the piece, and his excellent shippers had it packed and sent out to me a couple of days later, even working through a holiday weekend to get it to me as soon as they could.

My statue came to me immaculately packed and in perfect condition, and it was even more lovely than I’d expected. It has a home now with me and brightens my library every time I walk into it. I have Michael Wolf and his team to thank for that extra joy in my life and couldn’t be happier. In a field with far too many bad apples in it, Wolf’s Gallery was heaven sent.
