A nice store and clean, the only experiences that I was unpleased with was the lack of checkout representatives and the fact that a checkout lady told me the lotion bottle was open, but still proceeded to not listen to me when I stated all of them look like that and were a twist open and closed lotion. She, ignoring what I told her that they all look like that, then pumped the lotion out of the bottle and onto her hands. First off I told her and I said I was fine with it, so don't proceed to put lotion on your hand while I'm purchasing the lotion for me and if she would have listened then she would have read the lotion bottle top and realized when she tried to pump it the first time that the bottle was not opened, if she felt concerned about it she wouldn't have tried to pump the bottle and could have asked someone to go in the back and get me another bottle. So because I didn't want to inconvenience anyone and there was already a line and I was pressed for time myself and had no time to argue, I said that I was fine with purchasing it. It still angers me to this day that the checkout lady squirted the lotion I bought on her hands to prove a point that it was opened when the bottle wasn't, who's watching these cashiers?

I had a bad experience getting my groceries delivered from them. I requested everything to be in paper bags, and was charged $1.50, which would cover 15 bags when my order should've needed 2. When my order came, there was one paper bag and everything else was in plastic bags, so why was I still charged for all of those paper bags? Also, in that one paper bag, my bread had been packed underneath several heavy items, so it was very squished. When I called to ask about getting a new loaf sent out, the person I spoke to said that they would most likely not be able to do anything about it because he hadn't packed the bread under anything, so it must have been the fault of how the Door Dash driver was driving. He said that I would probably have to speak with Door Dash and get them to replace my bread, but he would have someone call me first thing in the morning. Well, absolutely no one called me in the morning, and the note he said he was leaving where they would definitely see it, wasn't there. But the very nice lady I spoke to the next day sent my bread out to me in the afternoon. I may use their delivery service if I'm desperate, but only if I don't need anything that can be damaged.

*****UPDATE***** We went to this store this weekend, and it's still consistent with its great customer service and maintaining a clean, well stock store Giant Eagles in Beachwood stays pretty consistent in maintaining a clean, customer friendly store. Especially the Kitchen who serves hot or cold foods, that staff is very accommodating to your food needs. They seem to make some cosmetic changes to the store inside and out, which is very nice and greatly needed

Incredibly slow service, and never enough check out lanes open to accommodate the number of customers. Nobody seems to understand (both customers and employees) to create two lanes for self check out; one for express/less than 12 items and another for more than 12 items. The employees are not above arguing with you and even discriminating against you. Since self check out lanes were not moving, I went into the customer service lane for check out. The employee screamed at me to get back in line and she would call me when I was next. However, I had lost my place in the other line because I had moved to her line, so how is this fair? Since when do grocery store employees dictate what lines a customer can use for check out? I’ve also had an employee argue with me regarding the use of coupons, when she was obviously in the wrong. Incredibly poor customer service, and many of the employees are combative, rude, and lazy.

Edit: I returned to this store because apparently I am a glutton for punishment. There was a sign stating that if rotisserie chickens are not available during certain hours, they will give you a coupon for a free chicken at your next visit. Since my visit was during that time frame and they did not have chickens available, I inquired at the deli counter if I could please receive a coupon. The employee I spoke to immediately made a long, exaggerated “pfffft” sound with her lips because she was unaware of this policy and apparently surprised by it. I then went to the guest service line where I was accused of “always coming for free chicken.” (I’ve done this twice.) I assured the employee that I would much rather pay the insignificant $7 for the chicken at my initial visit than be inconvenienced by having to return to this horrible store on a second visit and also be aggravated by standing in line at the slow moving guest service counter twice, (once to obtain the coupon, another time to purchase the complimentary chicken). Furthermore, I’d rather pay $7 to not be treated with such condescension or have to interact with these bitter, miserable employees. A third employee at guest service insisted that I show her the sign that indicates this policy and then she peeled it off of the case right in front of me and told me that it was no longer valid.

I visited again today and had some issues with the self check out machine which, unfortunately, required assistance from an employee. During the interaction the employee literally said, “this machine is retarded,” several times. Incredibly offensive and highly...

Update: ~1:00PM. 3/17/2023. Learning to interface with more, knowledgeable store associates. Upgraded ratings one star. (2 to 3):-). Update: 12:19 PM.12/19/2022 Perhaps I misheard cashier Shannita. Sounded as though she quoted a price ten dollars above the actual cost of the items scanned. I made a comment questioning her quote. I volunteered my phone number, used my perks, paid in cash, packed my own groceries and departed the store. Before I left the store I used my cell phone calculator to verify the receipt accuracy. All ok. Bottom line. Will not use Shanitta's line. 4/24/2022. Moving forward to April 24, 2022. Waited patiently behind a female customer and her young child. I witnessed this employee speak to her in a hateful and condescending tone. Once the transaction was over, and it’s my turn, in a clear and normal tone I pointed to and requested two fish types. The employee again spoke to me in a hateful and condescending tone. The person in front of me was Black and so am I. The employee refused to give his hame. Moving forward I will shop for seafood a Daves or Heinens.Update 1/5/2022. Asked cashier how I accumulate perks: her reply: Only on items that are on Sale. Found this to be false after researching online. I'm close to shopping at Heinens. Update: 11/20/2021 Upon checking out it was determined I had not been credit/perks from several previous purchases despite providing mermbership at the time of checkout. Update: 12/8/2020. Gave it another try at this store..Angry cashiers...City Police trolling customers..😕Amendment, July 25th, 2020. I visited this store in the late afternoon on this date. I was shocked to see a customer and his family inside the store shopping with no Face Covering.. How can this be in view of the present World Wide Pandemic concerning Covid -19. Being a visitor from California, I will not shop at Giant Eagle..I'll take my business to Heinens. Earlier Experience. Nice selections & self service salad bar. Nice prices. Below average cashiers. A visitor from Southern California where Ralphs and Food for less are the dominant large grocery stores. Both under the...

Never do store pick up from Giant Eagle in Beachwood and Market District in Solon! The service is HORRIBLE! I ordered a pick up for 4:00 PM today at the Beachwood branch and it is almost 6:30 and I still am waiting. Also, I was told my order was too large and was taking time for the person to get the items, but I have sat next to several people that have orders that are as large as mine and watched them get their orders. They were not even sitting in this parking lot when I originally got here at 4:00. I went home and came back because of how long it took. Market District doesn't know the difference between pork chops and pork steaks and replaces your items with items that are more than $4 than what you requested. So your bill is higher than you originally thought and you have less items because mostly everything you order is out of stock. I understand that supplies are low, things are out of stock at times, and that you are behind due to the amount of workers you have on staff, but still maintain a decent level of customer service! I shouldn't have to argue with you about why my bill is not SIGNIFICANTLY lower (originally bill was $202 and the new amount you told me was $198) when you've told me that the big ticket items I ordered are all out of stock and weren't replaced. Make this make sense!!!!

Update 1: I get home and two of my items are missing after I waited two and a half hours to get the order! I had to call the 800 number to speak with someone. That was the only saving grace to get them the 2 stars.

Update 2: I called back the following morning. The manager at curbside was nice and apologetic for the poor service. She asked did I want the items from the list and went to get them herself. I was there for less than 5 minutes this time. She also stated it was a lot of people that called off and never employees running curbside yesterday. Although it was an annoying experience yesterday, an apology...
