Pho BamBoo — Restaurant in Beaumont

Pho Bamboo has quickly become one of our go-to spots when my boyfriend and I are craving Vietnamese food. We went on Friday night and shared a bunch of dishes, and as usual, everything was solid.

The fish sauce chicken wings were definitely a standout for me, perfectly crunchy, with a sticky sauce that coated every wing just right. A little sweet, a little salty, a little spicy, exactly what I look for in this style of wing. The egg rolls were also great, super crispy and just how they should be.

The only dish that didn’t hit the mark for me was the pork chop with rice. I was expecting a perfectly grilled chop with those nice charred bits, but instead, it had a curry flavor I wasn’t expecting, and the texture wasn’t quite what I was hoping for.

The pho with beef slices and brisket was simple but so flavorful. The meats were tender, and the broth hit the spot. My boyfriend’s favorite was the bò né (sizzling plate),the beef chunks were nicely seasoned, and the runny egg worked so well with the baguette for dipping. Definitely a comfort meal.

The pho is good but there's not nearly enough meat in it. I wish they would have given me enough lettuce to wrap each egg roll with. They charged me extra for another little tsp of Sriracha sauce. Also the waitress wouldn't stop making comments about how much I was eating. It's absolutely none of their business how much food I'm eating. They should be glad that I'm there spending my money. Today was the last day I'll ever eat there because I'm on a very strict diet but I chose this place today to spend my "cheat day" and I felt ridiculed by the staff. My strict diet isn't even for weight, it's for health so I know she wasn't making fun of my weight but it's still not her place to ever comment about that. I’ve been a loyal customer since this spot opened and my last visit has changed that I went to dine in and ordered spring rolls and vermicelli with shrimp and the shrimp was mushy and tasted like the ocean when I told the worker about it she tried to convince me to keep it she said these are new shrimps then the ones I usually get these are gulf shrimp so I tried getting pass that and just couldn’t enjoy my food when I told her I didn’t want the food she told me that small businesses like this one usually won’t take my food back but she’ll do it this one time she then left and came back about 2 mins later she began stirring the food looking at it and she said just this one time nomore she said this a total of 5x and she said if the boss was there they wouldn’t have took it back and like I said I was a loyal customer up...
