Normally, I'm a fan of IHOP. Last night was awful. Started out our food was cold. The sausage, hash browns, and pancakes were cold. The eggs were the only thing hot. So that tells us that the other food had been cooked who knows when. The waitress was ok. Friendly, but that's about it. We were sharing a meal and when she brought our food she set the plate of food in the middle of the table. That would have made sense had she brought us additional plates, which she didn't. I had to ask for another plate. I also had to ask for butter, syrup, and everything else. I don't mind asking, but she should have asked if we needed anything else herself. In fact after we let her know what we needed she never came back other than to give the ticket. I ended up drinking my husband's water because I was out. So she brings the ticket and never says we are to pay her. I had not been to IHOP since December of last year. So I go to counter to pay. Another girl takes our money and says she will return with the change. 5 minutes goes by, then a guy from Waitr comes and goes. I finally see the girl we paid and she says our waitress will bring us our change. Um, ok. 5 more minutes passes. I look around the corner and see our waitress taking orders from a big table. Common sense would suggest to bring your customers their change, which would only take a few seconds and then start taking the orders of the large table. BTW, we had to wait for her to bring them drinks (3 trips) BEFORE she would give us our ticket in the first place. There was a lady working behind the counter. No idea what she was actually doing (not a bad thing, just really wasn't paying attention to what she was doing). So I asked her how much longer to get our change. Keep in mind at this point took about 10 minutes to get our check after we finished eating and we had been standing at that counter almost 20 minutes. I had let her know how long it had already been (she wasn't behind the counter working the whole time). Her eyes got a little wide and she told the girl who took our money (not our waitress) to give us our change. So the did, but shortchanged us. My husband asked where the rest of our money was. I guess she thought she was getting a tip too. I don't know. She looked annoyed and then gave us the rest of our money. Here's the thing, I used to waitress back in the day at a place that stayed so busy you were lucky if you got to go to the restroom once during your whole shift, so I know how it can be and give a lot of leniency. This place wasn't crowded at all. No excuse for being ignored, cold food (it's not like our food took forever to get either), and mostly bad service. Like I said, I've always been a fan of IHOP, but i think we will stick to Waffle House from now on...at least we know the food...
Read moreI don’t even know where to begin me and my husband went to college Street IHOP after DoorDash and the atmosphere was just not what it was supposed to be. It stunk. They didn’t seem friendly. The lights weren’t on all the way it just didn’t seem friendly to be honest I really didn’t want IHOP after that, but my husband said let’s go to the one by Dowlen so I kept my comments to myself since he always sacrifices for me I said I would eat it this one time and am I so glad that I did not only was the food super fresh like everything was so hot even though I was freezing my plates kept me warm my waitress her name was TELLISA when I tell y’all I did not have to ask for not one thing my refills were already ready to go before I could look up extra napkins. She was so friendly. She didn’t rush me. She really made me feel like family. I have never had a waitress. give this great of an experience in Beaumont Texas. She truly is a star of customer service. So I asked to speak to the cook because of how amazing the food was and the manager as well because I wanted to give them their kudos a lot of people complain all the time about bad service and when she told me the manager was the cook, I just knew it had to be a woman because of how great the food was it was made with love. The manager’s name was CORIONA not only did her food deserve five stars her professionalism as a manager was unexpected. My omelette was so full of steak and vegetables. I was beyond surprised. Everything was hot. The steam was coming off of our shrimp. She really outdid herself. I will only be coming to Beaumont IHOP when they are there from now on and I will never step foot back in college IHOP I wish I could give these ladies 100 stars. I wish I could personally give them a raise. I feel that the tip I gave them still did not do justice for how great they were. Their service was stupendous. Whoever owns this location. Please take out a moment to realize what great representatives you have for your company before somebody else...
Read moreThe hostess seated the people in front of us in line, then tried to seat us before someone else that was in front. Came back and then just walked away and left us standing there without saying a word. We waited for far too long to be seated before someone (standing next to the hostess) finally yelled to the back to come help us. We were seated by a server. I told her we needed a booth and a high chair. She grabbed a high chair and took us to a table. I reminded her again I needed a booth, and she told me I couldn't have a high chair if I wanted a booth. She did not explain that there were also boosters available for my 2 year old. I had to take the high chair back myself, and try to look around to find a booster on my own.
We waited 10 minutes before our server showed up and asked to take our order for our food, when we did not even have drinks yet. After they were finally brought, half of them) we had to wait 5 more minutes before she showed back up to wave at her to get the hot water for the tea.
Another 20 minute wait for a create a face pancake, and a couple of over cooked eggs and bacon. Mind you, there were only people at 3 other tables in our side of the restaurant.
Meanwhile, there are 3 tables that are full of dirty dishes, employees posted up leaning on the walls, others just walking around, yelling at each other from across the restaurant. Water on the floor everywhere. Everything dirty and sticky. Some servers had fresh uncovered tattoos on their arms. This place has gone downhill in the last 6 months. Looks more like waffle House than it does what you would expect from IHOP.
The server at the table next to us argued with their table about what they ordered, going as far as to itemize everything she wrote down. She then reached down and tried to take her whole plate back to the kitchen, but the lady stopped her. After bringing them the sausage, she refused to give it to them until the lady gave her the bacon, and told her she was just going to go...
