I’m back for a 2nd visit. Last week service lacked in speed and follow-up but excellent food. Very nice Sophia welcomed me from the walk-in and a quick have a seat anywhere. Placed order since closing in 20 minutes. Seafood platter was a huge disappointment. Overcooked, which made it oily and a bit hollow as fish gets when overcooked. I would rather have less shrimp, less hush puppies, one less cod but larger and with better quality. Generous portion cut into the quality on P&L. Hush puppies were small and overcooked. The side salad was great presentation and delicious with a different kind of blue cheese. Culver’s has way better cod and hush puppies way better at LJS. I felt like seafood platter was just GFS or Krogers frozen items fried by the cook not watching the basket and no timer. Too busy cleaning to get out I guess. Fish seemed more like a cheap cut. Again Culver’s is top notch and sets the bar at same price level. That is my comparative reasoning. I was expecting a cod filet batter dipped and fried nice with this homemade style and fame of other great items on the menu. Shrimp was a butterfly but more like a sliver overcooked. Bearded Mgr not once cared to ask how was meal. He walked by twice. Service and food is graded 8am-8pm. Since closing soon, food came out fast and I moved quick for them to leave “on time”. Service was great this time. Great atmosphere over any fast food for sure. Take an extra minute in life to enjoy this place and yourself. The House of Blues burger is to go. We shall see. Not cooked medium. Too much going on with the ingredients. Took away from the lacking burger taste. Do they season the meat? Too many places afraid to use salt and pepper. Let the customer add it is a let down you see on the food network all the time as a huge mistake. I will be back again for more reviews. I have 3 more gift cards. Hopefully great food like the first visit will meet up with great service. Came back on 6/26. Ordered the Sicilian Lasgna. As you can see from the photo it looks more like Sicilian SLOP. Did they just scrape the last corner out of the pan? Not one solid lasagna noodle. Taste was decent but the looks was 1star. Toast was great, chocolate cream cheese muffin was great. Salad was great. Service with Clint starts off good. But then when I asked to add to my meal as he was dropping off the tab, he kept walking and replied oh you can you can add to it anytime. He just forgot to mention he was never coming back and thought filling the ice buckets and napkins on the counter and hit other new tables was now more important. FIVE plus minutes later all that, I had to get up and place my to go order and lemon blueberry cheesecake with the very nice counter and phone order taker. She is always excellent. She wears the headset all the time. Seriously, does anyone check on the crap that comes out of that kitchen sometimes. It is hit or miss on either food or service. Not all people are old and retired and don’t mind waiting.

Update! Hard to believe it took us two years to come back but it did. It was as awesome today as it was two years ago. I was undecided as to what I wanted but I decided on the biscuit and gravy casserole combo, with fruit and a muffin. Turned out, the cook informed the server that they didn't have the casserole today. But they did have what was called the "Monster" which was similar. A pair of biscuits, eggs, potato patties, covered in gravy all stacked high on a plate. She brought me a side of fruit to munch on even though it didn't come with it, while I waited. When it came out, it was massive! And it was so good. My husband had the eggs, bacon, potatoes meal and he added on some toast. It was just a wonderful breakfast. I think we just aren't going to take so long to come back this time. --- Small diner in Beavercreek, totally unassuming, but man I was impressed with the service and the food! I got a egg white Vermont omelette, fruit as a side and wheat toast.. The meal itself was under $10. Very nice surprise. I have to say the coffee was great! My husband got the 3 pancake combo with over-easy eggs, which were cooked perfectly and bacon. He really enjoyed it, said the pancakes were excellent! That too was under $10. We will be back, and I can't wait to try one of the breakfast sandwiches.

We went their for lunch: The service was great! Rachel's friendly personality and attentive service was very welcoming. I did not like the Reuben sandwich. On the menu, it said it was on toast. Fine, I tried it anyway, but the meat portion was small and dry. The sauce wasn't as tangy as I'd have liked. The fries were crispy and well seasoned. The cookies saved this place a star. They were fresh and delicious! The meat on the Cheese Stake sandwich was also dry. I have no designer to try any other hot sandwiches from their menu. The onion rings were delicious! The kids' chicken tenders were good. It definitely had some good combination of seasonings, and my picky eater loved it. Overall, what we ate was just okay. It's only cause they had potential with the little stuff like the fries, cookies, and onion rings that I want to try other things on the menu. I so wanted the sandwiches to be better. I'd come back to try some of their other stuff if I didn’t live an hour away.

So disappointed with my experience today. I’ve always loved cherry house until we came in for Mother’s Day brunch. I arrived around 10:45 am for our reservations at 11 am. The guy working the register greets me with a “what can I do for you.” I let him know we have reservations and he points to a table getting cleaned and says “you’ll be there”.... okay this is fine... not everything is rainbows and butterfly’s so I get when someone’s having a hard day. I sit at the table and wait for two more people to join me. I’m then greeted by the server, “what can I get for you”... okay another person that’s not having a great day... something is obvs in the water here because nobody is in a good mood. The rest of my party arrives at 11 am and the rest of the place is picking up but this seems not too crazy when I see four-five servers working this entire place. We figure out what we want and wait...and wait...and wait. I then go find our server and let her know we’re ready. Gets our order and then we wait for an hour.. we ordered two sandwiches and a burger. I ask her after 30 minutes what the ETA would be and she just got “I really don’t know”... seems promising. Icing on the cake was when our two sandwiches finally came out about 15 minutes before my mothers burger came out (Happy Mother’s day!) but we also watched a table that ordered after us receive two burgers before my mom got hers. The last and final straw was when my moms burger came with no tomatoe, lettuce, or mayo and she lets our waitress know and she goes “well I wrote down what I wrote down” at that point we were just confused haha. I understand how the service industry works I’ve worked in it for 8+ years and I understand that kitchens get backed up but for our server to give us no sorry or anything is HIGHLY...

We have been here many times and have always enjoyed our experience until today. We got seated right away and got our drinks right away. Served did take our order fairly quickly too but then it went downhill from there. It took probably 30+ minutes to get our food. Based on an interaction I saw between the cook and server our food had been ready for a bit. I took one bite of my food and noticed my bread was burnt. They tried to hide the burnt side of the toast by putting that as the inside of my sandwich. Even my husband said your food looks burnt. After a few minutes the server finally noticed I wasn’t eating anything and asked if she could bring me something else. I ordered something completely different. Usually when a restaurant messes up your order they move your new order to the front of the line so you get it quickly. Nope had to wait another 20 minutes. It got to the point that we actually set a timer on the phone and we were about to leave. Food came with 25 seconds left on the timer. Meanwhile my husband had been done with his lunch for several minutes and was even eating slowly bc I didn’t have my food. New food came out and server never checked to see how the new food was and if it was okay. Server forgot bringing our cookies but was quick to deliver the bill. No comp or anything. Which ok I did eat the meal so I can understand that but not checking in to see how it was, not moving it up so it came out quickly, nothing. The whole way it was handled was inappropriate and we...
