This park is a new favorite of ours. It’s big and has lots to do. Also, a different selection of structures than we’ve found on other playgrounds.
Probably the most unique thing is what my husband calls the zip line. I’ve frequently found the handle bar you hang from and whiz across a level bar about 7 ft. Long. This is a similar idea. But instead of a handle bar, there is a long pole with a circular seat at the bottom. This seat hangs about a foot and a half from the ground. Depending on height, size, age, ability you can decide to either sit or stand on this seat. My two year old boy sat on it with no problem. But considering my large belly getting in the way, I decided to stand. Anyway, this thing is twice as long as any other I’ve seen! And it’s like a very wide “V” shape. So it gives to momentum in the first half to make it back up through the second. So fun!!
Other unique attractions include a SUPER long slide (not actually very steep, but at the top of a hill and quite long - some families bring paper to sit on in order to slide faster), statues of large turtles and one of those large disc swings.
Such a fun place! I take my boy here when we’re...
Read moreWe came here simply for lunch, but found new grounds to recommend to parents. This is a small park designed for children, and amazingly engineered. There are two pavilions with tables, and both face the entirety of the park at opposite ends (so you can watch your children play with ease). We saw children from the ages of around 5 to 13 and they were able utilize different areas of the park. Sections for young children are designed playfully with cute alligators and other fun equipment. Older children have access to areas you typically expect in a park, and your pre-teens have access to more complex exercise/climbing/exploration equipment. The most interesting piece however is the hill slide. Perched on the top of a small hill, this slide is about 4 to 5 slides put together. It is metal and literally every child wanted to play on it (which is great for wearing them down). Might not have been the park we were expecting, but we'll be telling our friends where to go so they can entertain their littles. Highly...
Read moreGreat updated playground and park, most suitable for young children, but it also has a pavilion, smaller covered picnic tables, a large open field for playing catch or running around, and it does have a 50'x50' full court (or 2 half court) asphalt basketball court area in the back that is nice but I've never seen being used (so, I've put my basketball in my car to ensure I have it w me to shoot hoops while kids play on playground). Very clean park. Edit: Just was asked about park hours. Sign only says the "Park Closes At Dark," and sunrise to sunset year round gives better day-by-day open and close times. Or, half hour before sunrise to half hour after sunset, since it's light enough outside at those times in most circumstances. There are security lights, and I've seen Beavercreek police check every park I've visited within the city. They maintain a good, friendly, safe presence...
