every month i come in and place two orders for my company, one for tenure celebrations and one for birthday celebrations. the last two experiences are the reason for this review. while the treats taste amazing, the staff is sub-par. my December order was spelled incorrectly even after confirming the order at the end, i didn’t say anything because it was the first time since last July that my ordered had a mistake. This time, Colleen took my order. It should not take over 30 minutes to complete two orders when i already know what i want walking into the establishment. She has no idea how to place orders in a timely manner (not the first time she’s placed an order for me). I understand that new hires may need training but she’s been there for a couple of months at least. If an employee doesn’t know how to order everything, don’t let them take orders! I used to work at the beavercreek location many years ago, even then i want allowed to take orders by myself until i got the hang of it. You should probably re-implement that process. We’ve had many wonderful cakes from Ele Cake in Beavercreek over the years. However, their quality has significantly declined. The birthday cake we purchased last week will be our last. Despite it being an “easy” decoration depicted on their website, they didn’t follow the color options we specified or even spell the name correctly. The Beavercreek staff explained that the cakes are now all made in West Carrollton. They did offer to correct the misspelled name, although the alteration was messy. Moreover, some of decorations on the cake’s top were crushed because it was packaged in a box that was obviously too small. We hoped that at least the chocolate cake with buttercream frosting would taste good, but alas it was dry and the chocolate flavor, from our past experience, was “off” resulting in most of the cake going uneaten. They did offer $15 in coupons to be used for a future purchase but why would anyone reinvest in incompetence? This cake purchase was a total waste of money and a low point for our birthday...

I ordered 3 pies for Thanksgiving. A chocolate pie, a peanut butter pie and a combo choc/peanut butter. I purchased apple and pumpkin pies from a local grocery store. The pies from ele I had hoped to be the stars of the dessert show. I've ordered many birthday cakes and other baked goods from ele in the past and was confident the pies would not disappoint based on past experience and the price being paid. The peanut butter pie was absolutely disgusting and no one could stomach it. The peanut butter pie filling was a gelatin like substance. It did not taste like or have the texture of a peanut butter pie and was very off putting. The chocolate pie tasted more like cocoa and was extremely rich and bitter. Needless to say when you combine them both in the choc/peanut butter pie, it's not any good. I will not purchase pies from ele again. The apple and pumpkin pies from the local grocery store were not only a 3rd of the price, they were delicious.
