I wish I could say I would continue coming to this place solely based on the food because frankly the food was delicious and I have nothing bad to say about it! I’ve been there for both breakfast and lunch and each time things were perfectly cooked time and time again to my liking. But I will not be back to this restaurant. I’ve never felt so disrespected by a server. In my whole lifetime of going to restaurants. I tried to reach out to management by calling them not once but twice to reach back out to me to see if there was something we can do about this and I never got a callback. Every time I’ve gone unfortunately my server has been Steve Martinez. The first time I went we were ordering food and as I tend to review food I ordered a vast amount of food. In the server response by telling “ I think you have enough food” where then I respond “I actually would like to order one more thing” to which then he responds “are you sure I think you have a lot of food already?”. I feel like that was awfully disrespectful as I was not asking him to give me the food for free I was obviously going to pay for it and as a new customer I was just wanting to try out multiple dishes. Now I would have understood if the restaurant was busy but it had just opened and there was only myself with one guest(and we only ordered one additional dish each making a total of four dishes) and another party of one. Well I decided to give the place another chance. I come back a second time and again I’m still new to this place so I’m not sure how things work. I wait to be seated and he comes up to me and tells me “take a seat anywhere”. As no one was sat outside I asked “am I allowed to sit outside?” Which he decides to respond to me with “did you not hear me I said you could sit anywhere”. Again I’m a new customer and even if I wasn’t it’s still not okay to talk to a customer like that. On my third experience come here it was a Friday during lunchtime. And I had walked in the front to be seated after about a little under 10 minutes someone finally asked me if someone had help me yet. Where I respond I had not been helped. Then this lady continues by telling me if I would like to sit outside or inside. Where I respond that I would like to be seated outside since I had my dog with me. He continues by telling me to sit anywhere I would like outside. So I head on outside and Steve Martinez approaches me about five minutes after being seated there. He said “hey what are you doing? Who sat you here? This table is reserved.” I responded by saying “that the lady upfront told me to sit anywhere I would like outside. And that the table I sat on didn’t have a reservation sign like others that did” where he responded with “you’re not supposed to be seated here I’m going to go find out who’s that you’re here you can’t be seated here” (mind you it was a Friday during lunchtime so he was causing a scene with the surrounding tables which was embarrassing) so he walked off and I wouldn’t have minded if you just move me to another table because there was other tables opened but he had to make a scene about. Then another young lady comes up to a table asking who said is here and again I pointed at the lady who told me I could say anywhere that was open outside. And she just walked inside after I told her. Finally Steve comes back and tells us again “I don’t know who’s sat you here and I don’t know why you’re sitting here but whatever I’ll take care of this situation. do you guys want a menu?” I responded to him again by telling him to story I had been telling him over and over. But he said he would be back with menus and some water. I want to say more than 10 minutes went by and he kept on walking past is not serving us not paying attention to us never came back with a menu or water if it wasn’t for a super sweet cleaning lady. Which I think her name was Maribel Who brought us a menu and water we probably would have still been waiting. I will most definitely not be back to this place especially since I tried to reach out to management I never...
Read moreA friend and I popped in here for a nice brunch after I had an amazing experience my first time in back in March while I was on vacation here visiting family. I was so excited to bring my friend in! We got seated and right from the start our server was incredibly rude to us. I am in the service industry as is my friend and have been for nearly 10 years so we can understand someone having a bad day, or wanting to be done with their shift because like most servers we have been there. So we were kind as we always are to servers and had super simple orders. She snatched the menus out of our hands. She didn’t check us on but honestly no big deal, we were chatting it up and having a good time, the food was delicious, and like I said, giving her the benefit of the doubt. We finished our meals and sat for a while chatting and discussed desert. She brought us the check without a word. I asked for a desert menu and continued to receive an unnecessary amount of attitude while she pointed out the deserts on the menu. When I asked her for split checks she rolled her eyes at me with a “sure.” and walked away. We still tipped her 18% but more often than not tip the bill when it’s a low bill or at least 30%+ because just like everyone else, servers want an interactive and great experience from their server while dining out, and they deserve to be appreciated for giving great service. She didn’t tell us to enjoy the rest of our day, or thank us for coming in. Though we still enjoyed our time together and had an amazing meal, it was a less than welcoming experience and was uncomfortable to be met with so much attitude. Tracey G, I hope in the future you choose to treat your tables with a more warm and welcoming attitude. Not only did you miss out on a great tip, but you reflected poorly on your businesses values as far as providing a comfortable and welcoming environment. And for that I...
Read moreWe were skeptical. Places like this can be so hit or miss. Wednesday we started out with Bloody Mary's and I had the veggie omelette and my girlfriend had the Benedict. Omelette was incredible, the benedict... the hollandaise sauce wasn't quite as good as I expected so that was a bummer and the eggs were poached hard, not runny like I'm used to. The Bloody Mary's were also not as good as I'd hoped. A little watery, and the house Bloddy Mary was 5 dollars more for Ameretto and candied bacon. 62 dollars for two BM and breakfast. Then we came back the same night for dinner. There is one server in particular I very much like. Hes an older gentleman who really seems to know the service industry. We ordered a strawberry lemon drop, and the Moscow mule. Excellently prepared and made. Delish. I ordered the halibut special and she ordered the trio with soup and salad and grilled cheese. The dinner was perfect. The food could have been hotter, but I'm not upset. The asparagus was cooked to perfection, but perhaps light in salt, which I believe is why the dish came with capers. I love capers. The potatoes were good and oh! I actually forgot the dish came with a sauce.. there wasn't much of it. But still oh so good. We wrapped up with a desert. Chocolate lava cake. It was perfect! Presentation and flavor were on point. The appetizer of truffle fries were good, not amazing, again could have been hotter. But they had that flavor you want, which was good. All in all, I'll be coming here more often. But hopefully going forward things will get hotter. I will say, there is one employee who seems really sad to be there. We notice every time. 4 out of 5 stars but open to more experiences at this classy cafe. Thanks everyone who made this...
