I was so excited for this place and attended their soft opening, but left with disappointment.
First of all, the drinks themselves are good. They were only serving their brown sugar line today. Very sweet and definitely on the pricier side.
Here is constructive feedback for the staff and the manager of this location. I understand it's the soft opening and there are some kinks to be ironed out. However, there still a standard of customer service to be maintained; and I felt like they failed to meet that standard. This is not directed to the staff since I know this is not their fault and they are just listening to their manager. Unfortunately, the manager was not present during this incident so here I am, writing a critical review. I was really frustrated they were trying to charge me 50 cents for no ice. No where on the menu does it mention that additional charge. You see the extra charges for toppings, but not for the ice. The lack of transparency and honesty is how you lose potential loyal customers. The cashier was trying to be efficient and have some drinks made before we were done completing our order and payment. She had the first drink done before we finished paying, which had no ice. She then proceeded to charge us an extra 50 cents. I pointed out that it never said that on the menu AND she never disclosed this to us prior to making the drink. If we had known we would have been charged extra, I would have kept the ice in my drink. She explained that it costs extra because they add more milk. I understand that, but the staff still failed to disclose that prior to ordering or even providing signage. In the end, she made us pay 50 cents for her own mistake because the drink was already made which is infuriating. She could not provide an explanation for why the charge was missing on the menu. I felt deceived. I expected to pay $7.45 according to the menu, but they throw in a hidden extra fee of $.50. All I'm asking for is transparency for your customers. Update your signage and educate your staff to disclose these fees properly instead of forcing the clueless customer to pay extra.
The reality is Beaverton is oversaturated with boba shops. If you want to survive in this market, improve your customer service and communication. This whole experience turned me off and I'd rather go to HeChaLou, Sharetea and Happy...
Read moreI stopped by The Alley for their grand opening this morning and honestly, it was a mess. I get that it’s a big day and everyone’s excited, but everything felt super disorganized. There’s only one door for both entering and exiting, so it turned into total chaos with people pushing in both directions.
I waited forever for my drink, and when I finally got it, it was way too sweet the artificial kind of way. Nothing special, honestly
To top it off, there was this guy (looked like he was recording for social media or something) who got way too close to me. I asked him to stop filming so close, and instead of respecting that, he just pushed past me and kept going like nothing happened
Maybe things will improve once the opening hype dies down, but this first visit left a bad taste in my mouth. The design of the store is...
Read moreAbsolutely ridiculous. I drove all the way from Hillsboro, almost 30 minutes because I was genuinely excited to try one of their drinks. I checked their Google listing beforehand, and it clearly said they were open. When I showed up, the place was completely closed. No sign on the door, no explanation, nothing. Just lights off and doors locked.
If you're not open yet or still in the middle of a soft opening, UPDATE YOUR HOURS. It's not that hard. Leaving incorrect information online is just lazy and disrespectful to customers who take the time and effort to visit. I wasted gas, time, and energy for absolutely nothing.
If this is how little care is put into something as simple as keeping your hours accurate, I can’t imagine how bad the actual service or product might be. Get...
