Authentic Thai Flavors and Exceptional Service at Khao Yai Thai Kitchen! We recently dined at Khao Yai Thai Kitchen on Barrows Road in Beaverton and were blown away by the authentic Thai flavors and exceptional service. We were so grateful to be able to attend today after church. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed. The ambiance was quite clean, and despite the crowd, the attention was there the entire time. Our server, Ut, was incredibly attentive and gracious, making sure we had everything we needed. We ordered the pineapple fried rice with shrimp, was balanced and delicious. The crunchy chicken with fried basil was another highlight, with perfectly crispy chicken and fragrant basil. We also enjoyed a flavorful noodle dish with curry sauce #44. For dessert, the coconut ice cream with lemon zest was a revelation. The fresh coconut strands and candied lemon pieces were a delightful touch. Even the Thai iced tea was on point! Overall, we were extremely pleased with our experience at Khao Yai Thai Kitchen The food was outstanding, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a truly authentic Thai meal in Beaverton. We have to say that we are pretty spoiled being that we were from Los Angeles, California and have had the privilege to frequent many Thai restaurants due to the diversity and variety that are present in SoCal. Since moving to Oregon, we have had great difficulty locating Thai food we love. Thus far, no Thai restaurant has us be repeat customers which is saying a lot since Thai food is one of our favorites. We were losing hope. This definitely will be a restaurant that we will be returning to and also making high recommendations for. Thank you again for a...

I never thought we needed another Thai place in Beaverton. Boy, was I wrong! This place is the premier spot for all of my favorite Asian flavors. The food presentation was perfect! Every plate was Instagram ready, and the aroma wafting off was enough to drive you crazy.

The fried sweet potatoes with coconut were crispy on the outside, and hot and flavorful on the inside. A perfect combination, also, of sweet and savory. The Khao Yai crispy wings in Tamarind Sauce was something I never knew I was missing. My wife, who never eats chicken wings, fought me for the last one. Sweet, sticky, crispy, savory.

The Larb was like nothing I'd ever tried. The mix of flavors kept me coming back for more, though I still can't put my finger on what they all were. So many different things and not sure how you got the rice to have that texture. I need to order it again to try and solve that puzzle.

The best of the lot was the Khao Soi. It had the best elements of a curry, combined with delicious noodles. I ordered it spicy and it had just the right kick I was looking for. If I get brave I may kick it up to Thai Spicy. I kept telling the waiter how great everything was, and he gave me that look like, "Yep, we get that a lot." I'm sure you do.

There was a good mix of people in there eating: families with young kids, business folks grabbing a quick bite for lunch, and other couples like my wife and I. Many seemed to be regulars, and I can see why. Now, I just need to make the excuse to go back several more times to try the other things on the menu. Fortunately, it's right down the street. Keep doing what you're doing and take...

Finally a Thai restaurant in progress Ridge neighborhood.

They have outdoor seating with umbrellas.

We were very excited to try this the first week they opened. Service was great and friendly. Unfortunately the excitement of trying this place was quickly extinguished as the food started being serced.

We ordered Potstickers These were very good. Nice cook, good quantity and the sauce was spot on.

Tom Kha Soup The soup looked pail and the flavors didn't come together. Actually looked like the milk had started to curdle? They used cheap dark chicken meat.

Pad See Ew with chicken The cook was great with a bit of the pan sear flavor you expect when properly cooked. However, again they used cheap dark chicken meat and it all but ruined the dish.

Basil fried rice with beef Tasted of pepper and rice and that is about it. The basil and beef didn't come through at all.

Last of all Thai Iced Tea was only ok. Sweet without enough of the dark tea flavor to...

I ordered the Crying Tiger (pictured), and it was good! The locally-sourced, Thai-style grilled ribeye was tender, a good portion size, and medium-rare, with very minimal gristle, but to me, the standout was their "Khao Yai Chili Dipping Sauce" - it was excellent; smoky and sweet, like a barbecue sauce, but with a slow-building, medium-to-high Thai chili spice. It was really fun! I also liked that the salad greens were a bit fancier (spinach and dandelion greens) and were perfectly lightly dressed, and the rice was fresh. This local, AAPI-owned and family-owned business is a pleasant balance between casual and elegant. The staff was friendly and professional. If I am in the area, I will probably return to try other menu items. Shop local, eat local, and support small businesses!
