I decided to give this place a second try after the confusion from my first visit. I thought I was overcharged before but, the owner explained to me the price discrepancy. Because of that I decided to give this place a try for the same item. Salad rolls. Seems simple enough. I ordered one salad roll with shrimp and one with tofu. Along with extra orders of peanut sauce. I ordered one with tofu because I was getting lunch for a friend. He is allergic to shrimp. I am intolerant to soy.
When I arrived the server told me that he had labeled mine so we knew which one was shrimp. I didn't question him, met my friend, gave my friend his roll, took mine and we went our separate ways. About a half an hour later I went to eat my role and found it was tofu. Texted my friend and sure enough, his was shrimp. Even though mine was labeled shrimp!
So neither of us was able to eat our lunch. We both drive all day and this was our one meal on the road. I was hungry all day and didn't get a chance to eat again until 7 p.m.! I picked up those rolls at noon which I was expecting to be my meal for the day until dinner. Very very disappointing, especially since this is the second time I visited and the second time they have messed something up. But this time, it could have been a matter of life and death. The shrimp could have killed my friend had he not noticed there was shrimp in it! Please understand that shellfish can kill people!
It cost $23.45 for these two rolls! Plus I left a tip! For a lunch I couldn't even eat! For a lunch that could have killed a friend of mine! As I told my husband when I got home, if the business decides to refund all of my money including the tip, I may, MAY, give them a third chance... But I definitely won't order anything for anybody else! Only myself! They almost killed my friend...
Update to original post: I just received a text and a phone call from the manager explaining the price discrepancy. I changed my review from three stars to five stars because of that. He explained that I ordered the shrimp salad rolls which are more expensive than the tofu salad rolls. And I got the large peanut sauce not the small peanut sauce add-on. Hence the more expensive order. I really appreciate the response! I will be going back! He apologized and thanked me for the business during these hard times. Wow, I wish I received more of that type of customer service! Well done! Original Review I wanted some fresh salad rolls and peanut sauce so picked up an order for myself and a friend. The salad rolls and peanut sauce were tasty so the three stars is not from the quality of food but from the unexpected price total. According to the website an order of salad rolls should cost $8.75. An add on of peanut sauce should be $2. I ordered two orders of salad rolls and one extra peanut sauce. The total should have been, $19.50.
I was in a hurry and wasn't paying attention when he charged me and didn't even register that he said $25 for my total. I paid the $25 and left a $2 tip. A few hours later I realized I paid $27 for an order that should have cost $19.50. I know that restaurants are hurting during covid and I'm fine with paying a little more I would just like to be told ahead of time. If I need to pay an extra $5.50 yet I'm not ordering through doordash or GrubHub or anybody else please tell me.
I called the restaurant direct, ordered direct, I paid them direct. So I don't understand $5.50 extra charge. And do not appreciate the lack of explanation ahead of time or at time of charging. If someone would like to reply to this review and explain, I may return. Otherwise, I don't think I'll be going back.
I Love Pho Van and they are upfront about adding on $2 to every order. I'm totally fine with that as long as I am told...
Read moreA horrible experience. My wife and I used to frequent this place with friends and coworkers. Last Friday (11/1) we went there for the first time since the COVID onset with a another couple and what a horrible experience, food and service. We got seated promptly, and that was the only good thing. The table was sticky but we decided to be nice and said nothing. Three in our party ordered small cups of Tom Kha soup, one a large bowl of Tom Yum soup, and main dishes. Some 15-20 minutes later we get only two curry dishes but not the rest and have to wait. Some 10 minutes later we get soups. Tom Kha soups were so over-salted that nobody couldn't get half way through. The guy who ordered Tom Yum got a small cup instead even though when ordering, he emphasized to the waitress he wants a large bowl. That went back to the kitchen and more wait while curries got cold. Another 10 minutes and large bowl of Tom Yum arrives but my wife's order of the eggplant dish is missing and apparently the waiter didn't include it in the order. We had to start eating cold food and had to share because not everybody got their dishes. How the heck can an order for 4 people be screwed so badly?
While dealing with the ordeal, I went to the mens' restroom to wash my hands from the sticky table and guess what - no hot running water from the faucet. Ugh!
From the horrible experience, we decided not to test our luck anymore and asked for two separate checks (mentioned to the waitress at the tome of ordering). All our items were mixed and it took two tries for two waiters to fix it.
About an hour after leaving the place, two people in our group developed upset stomachs.
Not only the food and service were bad but it's unsanitary. The place needs to be inspected by health authorities. Avoid if you care about...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Siam Lotus, and I can confidently say it was one of the most exceptional dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I walked in, coming straight from work and not exactly dressed for a night out, I was greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality. Despite my somewhat disheveled appearance, the staff made me feel welcomed like a longtime friend.
The service was nothing short of impeccable. The waitstaff went above and beyond to ensure that my experience was perfect. They were attentive without being overbearing, consistently checking in to make sure everything was to my liking. They struck that rare balance between professional and personable, making me feel both pampered and at ease.
Now, onto the food—where do I even begin? Every dish I tried was truly to die for. The flavors were vibrant and meticulously crafted, with each bite offering a symphony of tastes that danced on my palate. The ingredients were fresh, and the attention to detail was evident in every dish, from the appetizers to the main course and dessert. I could tell that a lot of care went into not just the preparation, but also the presentation, which was nothing short of artful.
The ambiance of Siam Lotus only enhanced the experience. The décor was tasteful, and the atmosphere was cozy yet refined—an ideal setting whether you’re there for a casual meal or a special occasion. Even after a long day at work, I found myself immediately relaxed and fully immersed in the moment.
In short, Siam Lotus exceeded all expectations. They not only provided a meal but an experience that left me feeling rejuvenated and deeply satisfied. It’s rare to find a restaurant that delivers on every front—service, food, and ambiance—but Siam Lotus does it with...
