This was one of the best salons on the Westside before I lost trust in them. I got my nails done here on a regular basis because my manicure was always strong and long-lasting, and the owner was very friendly. I was introduced to the powder dip, which is awesome, but it is more expensive and more time consuming, if done correctly. They want the extra $$$ for doing this type of manicure, but they don't have any patience when it comes time to remove it. It takes a lot of sanding down and soaking in acetone. The VERY LAST time I was here, one of the experienced technicians tried to pry it and rip it off, which HURT and is not how anyone should remove old polish. I was also massively overcharged for a mediocre manicure - way too thick and no shape. Mediocre because he tried to skip steps and cut corners. Expensive, because he kept making mistakes and had to spend extra time redoing his work. Also used products I never asked for, then cleverly added an extra $20 at the cash register. Before this incident, I'd found two specific technicians who were very dependable and meticulous. The website would have you believing you can schedule an appointment with your preferred technician, but in reality, they don't really cater to customer requests. Don't try asking for someone by name. Even if you schedule an appointment, it doesn't mean they'll have a seat ready for you, because they operate on a minute to minute, shuffle everyone around basis. You might have up to four different technicians working on your manicure. Unfortunately, this place began to feel like another typical fast-paced factory. I didn't like how the technicians were blatantly cutting corners, and acting annoyed when I asked them to shape my nails. I thought that was a normal step in any standard manicure. Another concern with this fast paced environment, is the questionable regard for safety and sanitation. Having my nails almost torn off brought an abrupt end to my...
Read moreAs a licensed cosmetologist who moved here from Michigan a couple of months ago, I was excited to find Jay on Instagram. My first time was a great experience. Everyone was professional, friendly and my nails were bomb. I made an appointment with Jay for a fill in. Came in for my appointment and was told Jay was off for 2 weeks because he got a tattoo on his hand, but someone else could help me. I was a bit taken back because why wouldn't Jay say that when I made the appointment and if this is spur of the moment why weren't customers notified. I MADE THE APPOINTMENT WITH JAY! I digressed and agreed to have another fellow service me only he was confused about what color Jay used. I thanked him and told him that it was ok I would just return when Jay did and I left. Fast forward to Jay coming back. I go in ready to get my fill in and all is forgiven. I asked at the end of my service if there was a pricw list for customers. I received a fill in with 2 fixes, 2 flowers and a few stones and I wanted to see an itemized price list as they can tell you whatever they want. Well another tech comes and asks, "What's the problem?" I respond, "There's no problem. Do you have a price list for customers to see?" She went on in a sarcastic way saying how they can't price 10,000 things on a list while walking away speaking in her native language like she was upset that I asked. The asian customer sitting in her chair is laughing throughout this whole exchange. When the tach get's back to her she's comaining that I asked the question. At that moment I knew they weren't getting another dime from me and that I wasn't appreciated as a customer. I was just another 💵. I felt so unappreciated as a customer so I will be takinv my hard earned money somewhere else. I paid $98 the first time for full set and pedicure and $60 3 weeks later....
Read moreOkay so I've gone here a few times. And they have been amazing and professional and always taking time on nails. Each time I have come here I've had Jay do my nails. I like to make appointments so I know that I will get a spot of time and they will have time to thoroughly do my nails and how I like them and My nails won't be rushed. This last time I came and I asked for a simple set of long acrylic cow nails. And at 1st Jay was doing very well. And it was all professional and he was taking his time making sure they were getting done right. And that's something that I normally love about this place each time that I've gone previously they've made sure it was done right. So halfway into doing my nails To walkin come in both are asking for Jay. And one of the other guys working came and talk to Jay in their native language and afterwards Jay started rushing my nails not asking me if it looks like how I wanted anymore. And both girls were told to come sit beside me and wait for Jay to finish . Well Jay finished my long acrylic fill with cow print design and I took a look at them and noticed he didn't follow the picture nor did he clean any of it up. And he told me I was done. Then with my unfinished nails they charged me 105$ for a 35$ fill and a design that he didn't even do correct Now I say that bc I know he was fully capable of doing my design if he wasn't rushed to just finish my nails. Then not even a week later my nail just breaks off from me grabbing a STUFFED ANIMAL. So I call and complain about it. Then when I go in for them to fix my nail they had 3 different people working on my one nail and it took 45 minutes. I can day I really am disappointed in this place and I will not be coming back. Because I was overcharged for a simple fill, and my nails...
