My father and I had the wonderful misfortune of coming across this place and ended up here on a random Saturday. Needless to say, we were beyond disappointed. The place seemed like it held promise and as we were reading reviews, it seemed like a good option. We walked in and immediately felt very strangely, sort of like a 6th sense telling us to walk out, but we continued on anyway. The man working at the register seemed like he absolutely hated his life and was quite rude. However, being the guy he is, my dad tried to make his day by tipping him quite generously. The man seemed indifferent and gave us strange looks the rest of the time we were there. We had ordered 2 meals (important to note for later), so he had gave us our drink cups and we had gone to sit down. Despite it only being us in there, we had waited AGES. A family of 4 had come in after us, ordered, and had gotten their food. All the meantime, my dad and I were still sitting and waiting. I eventually had gone to ask what was going on. The guy seemed annoyed that I had even decided to look in his direction and irritatedly went to go look. He said our ticket had gotten lost and honestly, as irritating as it was, it was a more reasonable explanation for us simply sitting there. I had told him that it was okay, I had worked in the restaurant industry and things like this happen. Not even an apology. Afterwards, I had basically re-ordered and went back to waiting for our sandwiches, only this time, they were to-go. They had finally finished our order and my dad and I were irritated as is and walked out as fast as possible. We had gone to the car and opened our bag and realized they hadn't given us our chips that were supposed to come with our order. On top of that, the sandwiches were completely wrong. I had gone back inside and explained that our order was wrong and the man had taken on this attitude with me. I calmly said "I would just like my money back please.". No malice, no aggravation, none of it. In a snarky tone, he said "Well you do realize you can't return sandwiches right? Like, we have to throw this away now." and I decided to look past it. He grudgingly took the sandwiches, and gave me a refund. Again, I had walked out to my dad's car and counted the refund. He had given me the wrong amount. So once again, I found myself going back inside and disputing the refund amount to which he proceeded to ARGUE with me. I said we had paid for meals, not simply sandwiches, and in the most irritating, defensive tone, he said "WELL YOU SHOULD'VE SPECIFIED THAT". To which, albeit it was wrong of me to respond in a hostile manner, I reply "You're the one who took our orders. Literally, ONE family has come in after us. Surely you can't be stupid enough to have forgotten so quickly.". He seemed stunned and grudgingly gave me the remaining portion of my refund. I walked out of that place and can very confidently say I will NEVER be coming back. I have contacted their corporate office as well. I like to think of myself as someone who avoids as much conflict as possible, hell, I don't even like writing reviews. But, I work in customer service and I've spent most of my years working in a restaurant and I have NEVER seen something...
Read moreWe made our take-out order in the middle of the week shortly before noon. We sat down at a table while they made our food. It was for 2 sandwiches and their special slider platter that they advertised. The place was empty, seemed like very slow business for a lunch rush, only 2 other customers in the building.
After waiting a while, they finished both of our sandwiches and said that they were still working on our sliders. Another minute went by and one of the employees came out to us. They said that they ran out of the rolls that they use for the sliders. Something that they should have notified us of long before that point.
They did not offer an upgrade, the cheaper bread at a reduced price, or even a substitution with something thrown in for satisfaction. They simply offered to "make rolls" for the sliders out of a cheaper bread at the same price. When we rejected that offer and politely explained that "we were just excited to try your guy's sliders on the Hawaiian sweet rolls, it sounded like a really good combination", the employee said "Oh...well...did you want your money back?". I said "If I'm not getting the food I paid for, then I'd get the money back for it, right?". I was very confused as to why he would even ask. As if the other option would be that they keep the money and we just leave? The employee then looked upset, and said "Alright...I guess let's go get your refund at the register..." Like trying to make us feel guilty.
We paid for food, we didn't get the food since they ran out, why should we feel guilty about getting our money back for a product we didn't receive?
This location definitely needs some training in customer satisfaction. I have worked many years in the service industry. If there's an unexpected problem in which someone screws up and forgets to order enough ingredients for an advertised meal, you offer the downgraded item at a discounted rate, the upgraded item for no extra charge, or the downgraded item with something else to make up for it. You do NOT offer the downgraded item at full price, then make the customer feel guilty for not wanting the subpar / overpriced substitution.

He was courteous and sent me a voucher to reimburse me for the problems outlined below. In consideration of that, I'm raising my star rating from 1 star to 2 stars, and will reserve further judgement until I see how my next visit goes. Hopefully, it will not be the disaster outlined here: The Beavertown Town Center location was okay (not great) during a couple of previous visits, but really fell flat this time. I went there to purchase a take-out lunch. Strike 1: out of potato salad. Substituted pasta salad that didn't look AT ALL like the photo. It was mostly the elbow macaroni and sweetened mayo, with very few slivers of veggies. Strike 2: I usually get a coupon for a discount on my next visit. Was told they were out, but might have them in another month. Suggested I check the web site. (I did, and there were no coupons for lunches). Strike 3: I feel certain I paid with a $20 bill, but only received change for a $10 bill. The cashier had put the bill in the drawer before making change (a terrible practice!), so there was no way to prove I was due another $10. As a senior citizen, on a fixed income, that really hurts. Strike 4: The ham sandwich had so much gristle that it was very unpleasant. Strike 5: Went to the web site, to contact the manager, and there is NO CONTACT info listed. BOOOO... I don't think I'll be back. There are plenty more good restaurants nearby, without wasting my time on this place. So disappointing, since it...
