Updated review (July'22) We finally returned to tried the extra hot and whole chicken series. Been holding off because it is just too expensive for us (especially for the wing size that we remember). The whole fried chicken (no sauce) has so much flavor (and a spice kick) and very delicious! Husband and I enjoyed it alot, but it had too much spice for our son to eat. (We expected not spicy because it's just "fried") The Extra Hot wings were waaaaay to spicy and warrants a warning. It was INEDIBLE. Husband can normally eat extra hot at other places but he couldn't even finish one wing, and we had to toss the rest. What a shame, they need to put up a warning that it is very very spicy. On the menu it should have 5 chili signs, not 2.
Original review (2021) Finally a kfc (Korean fried chicken) nearby. I stopped by on a Saturday but the orders were backed up 1 hour so I ended up returning the next day and the wait was only 30 minutes. (Both times around 2:30pm, No line to order, it just takes a long time to get your food. They also accept phone orders which is awesome!) I believe they are still in the soft open phase so I have some comments for improvement. I tried the XL soy garlic and spicy half half. First impression: the wings are tiny. XL has 30 pieces but it's more equivalent to 20 pieces elsewhere (like Buffalo wild wings). It came with one very small side of pickled radish, which made me smh. I'm sure they provide one with a small size order, so they should give at least 3 for XL orders (especially bc the small containers are only half full of radish). Wing flavors were good; to my surprise, I liked the spicy one better than soy garlic. (I am normally a fan of soy garlic flavor. Perhaps the garlic flavor was lacking.) Overall, it could use more sauce. The hubs and i were not even close to being full after the 30 pieces of wings. Normally at other wing joints we would start to get full after eating 810 wings (but end up eating 1215 each and then feel stuffed). We would probably return again to try the extra spicy flavor and the "whole...
Read moreI would consider myself a pseudo-wannabe food critic. First off, I don’t like to critique anyone’s cooking because I genuinely don’t know what something should taste like, per the unwritten rules of “The Book of Food Taste (I just made this up to clarify my point),” so I generally go with some form of personal instincts and ask myself “do I like this food?” And then computing calculations in relative comparison of similar foods or tastes. I journeyed to this place based on quick Google searches and review recon; of course, I was driving, and the attendants of my vehicle were the source of inquiry and discovery. Anyhow, I generally like chicken wings but have always found it challenging to find wings representing the style and texture of northeastern wings (Buffalo, NY, and similar destinations.) Light, airy, saucy, and packed with flavor. What makes these Korean wings unique and special are the flavors and dips. That’s the magic in this food. You can tell a great deal of love and care is poured into getting the balance of texture and flavor precisely correct. The beautiful thing about this situation, as I ate the wings, I didn’t have the sense to scarf and stuff myself; I enjoyed every delicate chomp of flavor and texture, and these wings delivered on all ends. If there were a scale of 1-10 food rating, I would put these in an 8.2-9.3 range. I could ramble on in detail for a couple of hours, but I’ll spare the reader that burden and get to the point: if you like chicken wings, this is a must-try. If you like Korean food and flavors but always have a negative or sloppy vision of chicken wings, it is also worth trying. If you just like spice and unique flavors with an airy light chickeny crisp, this place is worth trying. I suggest ordering 10 of their most popular blends of wings and dip and seeing which hits home for you. Hot Wings and Soy Garlic are winners in my book, and I even tried the boneless wings, equally flavorful without...
Read moreWe absolutely love their chicken and typically my family and I will order form them at least 2-3 times a month. However, the last two experiences have changed for us. Most recent experience...make sure you are reviewing the credit card machine when you sign. The card machine automatically defaults to a $10.00 tip, so if you don't look at it clearly it's very easy to miss, and they are not transparent in making you aware that the card machine automatically defaults to a $10.00 tip. We noticed the charge was more than what we signed for, so we call the restaurant. They told us that it auto defaults to $10.00 and that we need to make sure we uncheck the $10.00 before signing. When I asked why they are not forthcoming or transparent about it? She said that it's like that everywhere. The time before we placed an order at 3:30pm and set the pick up time for 6:00pm. I got a call at 5:55pm to let me know that they are unable to fulfill my order because they are out of sauce for the chicken and have been out of sauce for the day. At this point my husband was already there in the parking lot waiting for the pick-up time. I asked why would you wait till 5 minutes before my pick up time to tell me you're unable to fulfill my order? She said they ran out of sauce earlier and closed the restaurant early because of it. Well that still did not answer my question, but what can you do. I told the women I spoke to that it would have been smart to shut down their online system when they ran out of sauce and decided to...
