⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Exceptional Dining Experience at Texas Steakhouse and Saloon
If you're ever in Beckley, WV, and you're craving an outstanding meal with impeccable service, then Texas Steakhouse and Saloon on Harper Road is the place to be. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and Southern hospitality that set the tone for what turned out to be an unforgettable dining experience.
Jennifer Hashimura, Will Smith, and their exceptional serving crew were on top of everything from the start. They were welcoming, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about making our meal as enjoyable as possible. It’s rare to get service this good, and it made the whole experience even better.
Now, let’s talk about the food — absolutely delicious!
We started with the Texas Steakhouse Salad, and it immediately blew us away. A hearty mix of fresh greens topped with blue cheese, crispy steak strips, and crispy onion petals. The blue cheese added a creamy, tangy richness, while the steak strips were perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. The onion petals were crisp and golden, adding a nice crunch and a subtle sweetness that balanced everything perfectly. It was a great start to the meal.
For the main course, I opted for the 12oz Ribeye, and I can honestly say it was one of the best steaks I’ve had. The ribeye was cooked exactly to my preference — medium-rare — and every bite was tender, juicy, and bursting with that rich, smoky flavor that only comes from a steak cooked right. The seasoning on the outside was perfect, giving the steak a savory crust while keeping the inside melt-in-your-mouth tender. It was paired with a side of Garlic Mashed Potatoes, which were creamy, buttery, and simply irresistible.
My dining companion ordered the BBQ Baby Back Ribs, and they were nothing short of spectacular. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, glazed with a smoky-sweet BBQ sauce that was just the right level of tangy and sweet. If you love ribs, these are a must-try.
For dessert, we couldn’t resist the Pecan Pie, and wow, was it worth it! The pie was rich and flavorful with the perfect balance of sweetness and the crunch of the pecans. The buttery crust was the ideal complement to the filling, and the vanilla ice cream on the side was a fantastic touch.
Jennifer, Will, and their team truly made our dining experience stand out. Their attention to detail, friendliness, and ability to make us feel welcome made this meal feel like a special occasion. They made sure we had everything we needed and then some — never rushed, always courteous.
If you're looking for a place with outstanding food, top-tier service, and a welcoming atmosphere, Texas Steakhouse and Saloon is a must-visit. The combination of delicious steaks, comforting sides, and top-notch service from Jennifer, Will, and the crew makes this a dining experience worth repeating. I’ll definitely be back next time...

The bathroom should have been a warning sign with clogged urinals and pee on the floor but the place itself looked decent so we gave it a try
Here is how it went: -Our waitress took lengthy time to even approach our table, but we did have a random young lady approaching and asking us if we would like something to drink only to tell us that she can't help us and our waitress will need to take the order.
-after finally tending to our table and taking orders, we got our drinks/appetizers and did not see our waitress for close to 30 mins. She did not check on us, did not offered bread, etc... several parties that came after were receiving their meals. Our order was very simple so the delay was puzzling. Eventually our food made the grand appearance and boy, that meal was not worth the $90 we were billed for. Seasonal grilled veggies meant chunks of barely cooked broccoli. Flavored ice tea served wrong and when I asked for the correct order I got a side of syrup and told to mix my own drink. The food overall was not seasoned or prepared well. The service was mediocre best.
We didn't expect a fancy meal or royalty treatment. We're both pretty chill and nice people. This place was a huge disappointment and I'm upset because we both work frontline, long hours with little time off.
Here is how it should have been done -Keep your restrooms clean and in working order. If the person preparing my food needs to use this it won't be long before some bad outbreak will happen -Train your staff! Sometimes shifts get busy, food take a while to be made but that's should not prevent them from being prompt, polite and attentive. And NEVER ask your patrons to make /mix their own drinks. The wrong dish was served? You replace it. The drink wasn't right? You get them a new one. I waited enough tables in college and I would be let go on the spot if I treated my customers this way.
I left with a bad taste in my mouth, literally and figuratively. I made the mistake to avoid waiting for a table at Outback and give this place a try. I will not do that again. It was a waste of my time and money. There are several steak houses in Beckley and a so far all have been fantastic. So there are options. This place...
Read moreHad dinner here during a 1 night stop over while traveling. Was close to the hotel.... convenient. It's called a Texas Steakhouse Saloon, so I'll be generous and attribute the sticky tables, dirty floor, and the general worn out look of the place to the rustic ambiance of a Texas Saloon. Requested table & chair seating opposed to a booth. After assisting the hostess cowgirl with putting the table back together, got seated. Wife and I ordered a couple of beers to start... I guessing they were served Texas Style....warm mugs with flat beer. We each ordered a Texas 2 Step. Price in the mid $20 range. Mine was steak, grilled shrimp, rice pilaf. Her's, steak, ribs, mushrooms. Came with a salad. Both the Cesar and House salads were excellent. My dinner, barely edible. Steak unseasoned, dry ,and flavorless. Rice was dry, crunchy, barely warm, soaked in oil. Shrimp was super over cooked, dry, and flavorless. Wife's plate much better. Steak ok. Mushrooms good. Ribs dry and poorly sauced. Small portions on huge plates. Most of the food looked to have been prepared days before, then refrigerated. In essence, reheated leftovers. Choked it down, paid the check which had to be redone due to items on it we didn't order or receive. Rode off into the sunset, never to return. Gave 3 stars. On expanded scale 2 1/2. UPDATE... The Owner responded asking me to contact to address the issues. I didn't and won't....why??? My reviews convey my experience at a business. I attempt to be fair and objective. The reported experience isn't going to change. It's history. The intended target of my reviews are the general public and potential customers of a particular business, not the business owner. The Owner made decisions on how to run the business. I only provide the results of those decisions from a customer viewpoint.
