Dickey's Barbecue Pit — Restaurant in Beckley

This was our 2nd annual visit to Dickey’s bbq while visiting my sister in WV. We can never visit just once! They certainly have the knack of making delicious food. The brisket and pulled pork are delicious and they offer sauces to enhance their flavor. Personally, I do not think the sauces are needed.. so good on their own! This last visit I chose the kielbasa and turkey out of curiosity. The kielbasa was good but the turkey was outstanding! Had to buy some to make sandwiches later! I’d also like to mention their staff. The 2 young men who were taking and filling orders were personable and efficient. I noticed as I stood in line that they were eager to please each customer. Highly recommend visiting this restaurant. It is not that large in size but certainly large in taste and personality. We really enjoyed it...

The food there is great but the service from the owners daughter has been continuously horrible! She is extremely rude to the staff and the customers every time I have been in and see her there. I almost just want to turn around and leave, it is so bad. She harshly complains about any type of discounts and scolds the customer if the staff happened to have given any such discounts. She definitely belittles everyone around her to the point you can't sit and enjoy your meal. I have complained about her and due to her attitude and disrespect towards law enforcement and military have discouraged several in going there. My first time visiting Dickey's and it was a pleasant and usual experience for what you may expect for a bbq restaurant. This location specifically is set up how you would expect a subway to be set up. Start on the left and tell them how you want your food made, they make your food in front of you, wrap and bag or placed on trays. You then pay and go eat. The drinks are in what they call big yellow cups, which look exactly like you might guess. No lids for the cups, and small crushed ice that everyone normally loves, with traditional coke fountain products, and teas.
