Bigger is not always better. I had lunch here today. I ordered one slice of Italian Sausage pizza. This was my first experience ordering giant pizza. The pizza tasted good, but because it was so huge, it was hard to eat. They did not offer a fork or knife. Since it was right out of the oven, it was very hot. I used my fingers to tear it apart in order to eat it. The cheese was pretty good, but no better than The Bella Italian Restaurant in Bedford, VA. The restaurant itself is too small. Very limited seating. There were a bunch of people in today, so I ate at the counter. It would be hard for a family to dine here, especially with young kids. The staff were friendly...but boy, it looked chaotic seeing them put those giant pies in the oven and serving them. I did see the cook drop a pizza flipper on the floor. She set it aside, but I think the guy that came to help when she was in the bathroom used it; so it was dirty. Also the cashier was handling food and money/credit cards without gloves or washing her hands.
I prefer eating in a more comfortable environment. The Bella Italian Restaurant in Bedford VA has wonderful pizza for the same price. They also offer more toppings, and since the pizzas are not huge, it is easier to eat. With Benny's the pizza is too hot and too big to...
Read moreThe pizza? It's alright—sometimes a little crispy, sometimes a little doughy. But hey, for six bucks, you kind of roll with it. My real issue is the vibe. The staff seems to be an elite team of permanently annoyed teenage girls who’ve made it their mission to make customers feel like an inconvenience.
If you're just grabbing takeout, no harm, no foul. But God forbid you try to eat in—they'll make it abundantly clear they'd prefer you take your pizza and get lost. And if you’re looking for a side of professionalism with your meal, you’ll need to look elsewhere. Last time I ate in (about three months ago), the workers were hosting a teenage hangout at the bar-like area with their friends, who weren’t eating but were certainly loud and obnoxious enough to make up for it. Nothing says "welcome" like being laughed at by a pack of teenagers, especially when the staff joins in.
Oh, and hygiene? Apparently optional here. Gloves? Handwashing? Clearly not part of the job description. It’s a bit hard to feel good about your meal when you know the person making it didn’t feel the need to wash their...
Read moreThe WORST piece of paper,(I won't call it pizza as u will see) we have ever had! Hubs ordered a supreme, with evythg on it for those that don't know. Was told they cdn't do that, no peppers or onions etc just meats! The "meats" r paper thin You cd practically see through the"sausage". The employees rolled their eyes and acted like he was crazy for wanting veggies on pizza too No flavor, so thin. Store bought diGuiorno is better. Don't waste ur $ or time. Not giving quality ingredients, good AMT of toppings u want, etc. *And after seeing about the lack of hygiene in comments, OMG!! If Bella's has pizza check there...
