This week I had the pleasure of visiting The Blue Lady. I highly recommend this wonderful store and cafe. I was visiting Bedford for work and while there I noticed this shop beside where I was parked on Main Street. One of the signs outside said "Florist" which caught my eye as I was in need of two bows for wreaths for the holiday. I also saw their sign for homemade candy which definitely peaked my interest. They are also a cafe which I see has very high ratings for great food. Upon entering this attractive and wonderfully decorated store which is a walk back in time, I was pleasantly greeted by the sweetest lady. She was very hospitable offering me a seat with her as I waited briefly for her son, the florist, candy maker and cake baker. Her son returned and he was also quite gracious. He made me two gorgeous bows, we shared some stories and I shared with him that one bow was for the wreath to be placed at the cemetary and that my family had a significant loss in our family this year and it was a tough holiday for us. Once he was done, he went with me to select the candy I wanted. The candy was outstanding!! I highly recommend not leaving the store without these homemade delights!! Before I left, Jai, the owner and sweet lady's son, brought me a beautiful ornament to go with my beautiful bow he made for my wreath for my front door, gave it to me and said, "When you look at this, think of your loved one you lost." I was so touched by his kindness. I felt like my visit to this wonderful place was meant to be at a difficult time in my life. Thank so much Jai to you and your mom. To everyone else, don't miss a chance to visit this great cafe, florist, and candy store with many pretty items to select. I look forward to my next trip to Bedford and will definitely be visiting the kind owners of The Blue Lady. You really touched this...
Read moreThis was easily the worst dining experience I have ever been through from the second we walked in until the second we left. The initial reaction of the woman when we walked in was “what are you doing here?” The other employee was leaning on the counter using his phone. When we ordered water we were served warm tap water out of the sink with no ice. After ordering our food we heard them cooking our food using mostly just a microwave. The entire time my wife and I felt as if we were stuck in the house of our worst enemy. It was an extremely unwelcoming and Unwanted experience. I honestly didn’t know a restaurant could do such a poor job at being a restaurant. As we were leaving another couple came in to look at pastries and the woman rudely said “we don’t have pastries just candy.” The man felt so unwelcome that he felt the need to ask the employee if she minded that he and his wife look at their selection. I could literally write a dissertation on how many things were wrong with this restaurant. There should be a warning sign on the door that says “Enter...
Read moreI was in town from Wyoming for an old school friends funeral. A different old school friend recommended I try them for my flower order. When I called the lady set up an appointment for me with the owner. When I arrived she brought me a cup of coffee that was absolutely amazing! The owner and I talked about my friend who had passed and what she liked etc. When I walked into the service later that evening I was absolutely blown away by how he had managed to capture my friends love of the west and VA in the arrangement. I was also amazed at the quality and size of the arrangement for the price. Thank you for making a painful time...
