Penn Station East Coast Subs — Restaurant in Bedford

The twenty minute salad. We walked in around 4pm. My husband is from the east coast and I'd talked up this place forever. So he orders an Italian and the guy taking the order asks for our name I said Chris and he says oh Justin and enters the name. I'm like whatever I'll just listen for Justin. Then I proceeded to order a chicken salad. Told him no sauce all the veggies and we go down to wait how about 7 minutes later I am handed a plate with a chickensalad sub... I look at it confused till I take it back and say this isn't right. I want chicken on a salad. So they say oh we can move it on to a bed of lettuce. I say no, your not following, I don't want chicken with sauce on it I want plain chicken. On top of vegetables. The grill guy says so she wants a chicken sub. They proceed to argue over what I wanted. About 10 minutes later I am brought lettuce tomato and chicken. The guy then asks if I want anything else on it takes it back and precedes to put the rest of it on there. During the entire event the crew is arguing about what exactly a chicken salad is what comes on it if I want cheese or not... Long story short I had to watch my husband eat his food while I starve to death over what should have been Max 10 minutes of cooking time for the chicken all because I wanted to be healthy. And then the $25 bill later what do they offer me for sitting here for almost 20 minutes waiting for a simple salad with chicken on it. A cookie....

Absolutely horrible. Called in an order (one 6" sub & small fry...nothing too complicated) and showed up 15 mins later to pick it up, because I was told it would take 10 mins. After paying, I started to notice red flags: An employee commented "this sweet tea is just water; I've had 3 complaints". Another employee replied "Just put a few scoops in it." The employees all seemed confused & slightly alarmed. Tables were dirty. An employee (who I later learned was the manager on duty) working the grill scratched her head with gloved hands and continued cooking. 😵

25 minutes after calling my order in, I reminded the cashier that my order was to go. She asked my name and went to consult with those working the grill. It became obvious that they were only just then starting my order, and only because I had said something. I immediately requested a refund, and after some confusion from the employees about who even knew how to give a refund, I was given cash even though my initial payment was debit. Another woman came up behind me and wanted a refund also, stating she had been waiting over 30 minutes. (She was seated and waiting when I arrived.)

Zero stars was not an option. Save your money and time. Wow, this location has many issues. It took 18 min to get our food (2 sandwiches and fries). The sandwiches were subpar and seemed to lack enough ingredients, and the fries were burnt. One employee was very rude. She was cleaning the back half of the restaurant and told us we couldn't use the bathroom. Paying customers who are waiting on their food. This was unacceptable. After we got our food, we were dining in, they turned the back lights off and all 3 employees walked out and sat on the sidewalk outside the store played on their phones and left us dining in the store by ourselves. To me this is also unacceptable, and unsafe for the establishment. If a restaurant states it's hours are till 9:30 (as stated on the hours printed on the door and the website), why would you turn lights off, close a section, and tell someone they can't use the restroom before 8PM? I made several attempts to reach out to owner with no response to top it off. Even called corporate and left a message. We could've eaten at a sit-down restaurant for...
