today i went to pick up a delivery from Wings and Rings here in Bedford, IN. i have been picking up orders from there for a long time. today when i got in, i saw the nice lady whom i would always get the orders from, i looked and smiled at her. since she was assisting other customers i decided to go to the restroom. when i got out, i saw two other ladies in the counter, i told the younger lady wearing a red IU jacket if I'm not mistaken that I'm picking up an order for Jane and showed her my 📱. to my surprise, another lady (taller) came in and she said, "you can't come here, you can't get the order, you are banned from picking up orders here (sort of) because you were rude to our employees. we will just call Doordash .....
i was shocked. i didn't know what to say. I've been getting orders there for a long time and i don't get into any trouble. if they tell me to wait i would just sit on the bench next to the counter and wait until the order is ready. sometimes the order is already ready for pick up when I come in but sometimes I have to wait which is understandable. but i could never remember being rude to anyone there. as I've said, I would just sit down on the bench and wait until it's ready.
finally the lady who i would get the order from came into the scene and she looked at me and gave me the to go box and the drink, so I went out but i really looked puzzled like what did I do wrong ? or what have I done? it's been a week or so since I picked up a delivery from Wings and Rings because I was busy and it's only today that I got an order from them.
heading to my car i was trying to figure out what just happened. I feel so offended, insulted and embarrassed. it is a Sunday so a lot of families go in and dine. I wasn't even asked who I was, what's my name, was I there that time? Nothing. it was blunt, irresponsible and downright insulting. I was not even pulled to the side or the corner so at least people will not hear everything and that tall lady's voice was kinda loud. that was verbally abusive and assaulting. she spoke in a manner wherein she sounded so 200% sure.
when I got into the car, I tried calling Doordash, as the phone was ringing, the nice lady who i would get the order from went outside. it appeared like she was looking for someone, I thought she was looking for me, so I waived at her and she went near my car and I came out. and I asked her what was it about, i don't know what's going on. then she told me that I was mistaken for another delivery guy who was rude. then I told her, she could have at least asked me. I told her that what the lady did inside the store was downright insulting and rude. then she said, that's the reason why she wanted to talk to me to say sorry. she added, everything's okay and that i don't have anything to worry about. everything good or sort of a thing.
would it be best to ask first, hey what's your name, were you by any chance here that time so she could narrow down and be sure that she is correctly verbally accusing the right person and not me?
if this store has a manager, it would be best to have a talk with her on how she could have handled the situation better, in a proper and more civilized manner in this day and age especially that she has mistaken me for someone else.
the sad part is, it's the nice lady who came out to apologize and not the lady who verbally accused me of something i didn't do.
I'm lost in space right now. It's my first time to be treated this way in public in my whole existence. it's both shocking, very embarrassing,...
Read moreBefore I start this review, let me say that I have received excellent service in the past (when I have dined in). However, I ordered online for pickup for the first time and was extremely disappointed. I ordered a burger (no cheese) and an iced tea for my fiancé . When I arrived to pick up the order, the hostess gave me my bag with the receipt and told me to check it for accuracy. I completely forgot about the tea (that’s on me), but specifically asked the hostess to check and make sure no cheese was on the burger and she verified there wasn’t. Fast forward...I get home with the food and my fiancé asks about his tea. Again my mistake...but as I’m heading out the door, my fiancé says “you may as well take this with you because it has cheese on it.” When I told the girl what happened, she of course apologized and went back to have them fix it. So in the 20 minutes I waited for that burger to be recooked, my own meal at home got cold. I told the girl that I was aggravated that I had food getting cold at home to which she replied “sorry.” No “hey, would you like to speak with a manager?” or “can we throw in a dessert for your trouble?” A small gesture goes a long way...it’s called customer service and is exactly what was missing...
Read moreThis is hands-down the best place to get wings, no question. We drive nearly 45 minutes each way just to eat here, and it’s absolutely worth it for the wings alone. The meat to breading ratio is perfect, and the sauces are top-tier, especially the specialty blueberry one. It blows BWW out of the water.
That said, I’ve been disappointed the last few times we’ve come in. We always order extra sauce because it’s so good, but lately the wings, especially with the blueberry sauce, have been coming out pretty dry, even though we’re paying extra for more sauce. On top of that, when we specifically order and pay for large sides of blue cheese, we’re consistently given one large and a handful of small cups instead. It's frustrating. I've even attached photos showing the difference in sauce quantity between my wings and my wife's showing the noticeable lack on mine.
I’m giving 3 stars because when you're making a special trip and paying extra, you expect the order to be right and consistent. The food and vibe are still amazing, and I want to keep coming back—but I hope they tighten up the execution so the experience always matches the quality we know...
