I walked in at 6:30pm on a Tuesday. A few people at the tables, nothing too busy. I was third in line. By 6:45 i placed my order. It’s 7:55 and I’m still waiting for the food. Wanton soup and a rice dish. No special requests or anything. I was told 20-25min, which seemed long but acceptable, but well over an hour later? It better be * Michelin stuff. The young lady at the counter was really nice but clearly overwhelmed. Crazy.
Update: even though I had every intention to eat there, they packed it "to-go". So I took it with me to the hotel, only to find out there was no silverware. If I didn't always travel with a spoon and chop-sticks, I would've had to eat with my fingers, I guess... and the food was really bland. Ugh. I should've just...
Read moreI went to this Chinese restaurant expecting the usual—maybe some fried rice, a little sweet and sour chicken. But then, like a plot twist in a kung fu movie, out comes the Pad Thai of the gods. I don’t know if they imported a noodle whisperer from Bangkok or just struck a deal with the universe, but this dish deserves its own Netflix special. The noodles were perfectly chewy, the sauce was balanced like a monk meditating on a mountaintop, and the peanuts added crunch like a surprise cameo in the finale. If this is what happens when you order Thai food at a Chinese restaurant, then I’m going back tomorrow and asking for a taco just to see what kind of sorcery...
