This location is terrible. I'm 100% sure a group of friends and I were racially profiled when we visited this location. We're weren't even there for 15min when we were asked to step outside by police for a noise complaint and allegedly smoking marijuana. Upon arrival to the location the entire staff minus one person was outside smoking and talking. When we walked up we weren't even greeted, so me being first to the door, I greeted them and my group of friends did as well. There were 6 of us, 3 males, 3 females, all black. So, we came in asked if we could sit at the counter and did so upon approval. We chit chatted amongst ourselves and then our drink orders were taken. We immediately notice unsanitary conditions. No one washed there hands when they came in from the smoke break. No one had a hair net. No one had gloves. The were cooking the meat and non meat foods side-by-side all over the grill , not on separate sides of the grill. Cups were dirty, and so was the rest if the establishment. It's a waffle house, and as nasty as these things are, it's almost expected to see a few of these thing happening but but all together at once, GROSS. One of my friends did make a comment on the conditions but it wasn't loud or untactful at all. They took our orders and as we waited and talked, they clearly called the police, because within minutes after, they arrived. They asked us to step outside and that's when we were told about thier allegations. We were dumbfounded. Totally caught by surprise. We weren't loud at all, and no one in our party was smoking marijuana. There were 3 officer, all white males. 1 of which was a douche bag. Sorry not sorry. The young guy aka the douche bag(seemed the youngest of the 3; the other 2 were visibly gray) had a point to prove. The way he spoke down to us and his demeaning disrespectful tone let us know that he clearly believed/agreeded with whomever called them. He didn't bother to take anyone's statement or hear anything anyone had to say. The seemingly oldest officer was much more understanding and attempted to hear our side but kept getting overruled by the young guy. We were completely compliant and respectful and did not get the same in return. Apparently we are all banned from this location and if we return we will be considered trespassing. Glad I didn't spend my money with them that night. I will be escalating this situation higher and bringing awareness to this situation. Being from ATL Waffle House is the "go to" eatery for a lot of occasions and is patronized by black people from all walks of life. Social media and hip hop have made waffle house "famous" in black culture. One of my friends in the group was very excited about his first Waffle House experience and this has left a bad taste in his mouth as well as the rest of us. They won't get mine or any of my...
Read moreHonestly, I can deal with the fact my waiter was in training. I can deal with waiting for a clean spot to sit and having to ask him to clean the counter again and clean the chunks off the menu. I can deal with the fact he had to be told how to make a cup of tea. I can deal with the fact that he brought me 2 dirty spoons in a row. I can deal with the fact he would not remove dirty dishes or trash from my counter before I left. I can deal with the fact Grand High Poobah Anelle had loads of prep more important than cooking my meal. (It was close to 1/2 hr to get a plate in front of me.) What I CAN'T deal with is how I was treated like a criminal for asking for a clean cup with no hair in it. "NO MORE free refills after this. That's it!" I CAN'T deal with Anelle slapping my food onto the grill for such a short period of time my waffle was doughy, my scrambled eggs were runny (I asked for firm) & my "well done" hash browns were slimy and cold in the center. The 1rst 4 times I was asked how everything was I had to keep telling them I had no flatware. I can't deal with Anelle huffing and puffing because I was taking time out of her busy shift to cook for me. I can't handle a waffle that is doughy in the center and having to beg for butter. I shouldn't have to handle Anelle telling the new waiter "just don't worry about what she says. It's fine!" It WASN'T fine, Anelle, in fact your attention to detail was awful. Almost as awful as you made me feel for coming in. If it had not been for the waitress, Jenny saving the day I would have paid for the cup of tea and left. Nobody should have to wait a half hour and watch three other tables be served, eat and leave until they are given the priveledge of paying $10 for a cold, slimy plate of food. The check was laid on the counter immediately as my food was served. BTW, when the toast is supposed to be dry don't stand there having a griping match with the waiter over whose fault it is. Just make some dry toast. Thanks for ruining the only meal I had that day, dressing me down over it and charging for the priveledge. Last time my waitress said NEXT time I would get hashbrowns that were warm and cooked in the middle. This was next time. I don't want to give them...
Read moreWe had a horrible experience at this location last night. First as we were walking up to the door this extremely old woman was standing right at the front door smoking. Though we were going to have to tell her to move to get in the door. We go inside and didn't see a server. A really sweet guy who was cooking told us to have a seat. We sat down and waited. While sitting there the young guy cooking was also serving the food, busing tables and taking care of customers. He apologized to ys for the delay explaing that he was new and had only been there a few days. Finally after about 15 minutes the old lady blocking the door comes in the building. Big surprise she's the server. She had to have been about 80. She walks up to wait on customers. Never washing her hands after being outside smoking. When she came to our table she had no personality what so ever. My friend is getting ready to order when all of a sudden the old lady starts coughing like she's going to hack up a lung. She then walks to the trashcan and spits in the trash. Again no washing her hand's just walks back to the table. Just water for me thanks. I'm not eating anything that old bag us touching. After leaving our table she walks over to where the young guy is cooking. Pushing her way in she grabs raw bacon with bare hands and puts in on the grill. As she's doing this other people are walking in. She tells them to sit anywhere. Grabs silverware and waters, again without washing her hands, and goes to their table. While all this is going on the poor young guy cooking looked mortified. You could tell he was disguted by her behavior. This is the nastiest experience I have ever had in a restaurant. Tried to call to speak to a manager and they don't even have a phone...
