I’ve been a Black Card member at Planet Fitness since before COVID. Lately, I’ve been thinking about exploring other gyms with better equipment and a change of environment. A coworker told me I could use my health insurance to sign up for EOS Fitness and other gyms under one membership, so I decided to try EOS using their 7-day free pass.
I went to their website, entered my ZIP code, and was given a couple of nearby locations. I chose the Euless location over the Hurst/820 one, since they are about the same distance from my house and I’m more familiar with the Glade area. Shortly after, I received a call from someone named Aaron i believe, inviting me to stop by to activate the trial. We agreed on 1 PM.
When I arrived, I asked for Aaron. The person at the front desk told me to take a seat. I waited 15 minutes before another employee asked if I had signed in. I hadn’t—because no one told me to. I went back to the original guy, who said he didn’t remember talking to me 15 minutes ago. Eventually, I signed in and took a seat. Side note: As I was sitting, I watched four employees chatting and not greeting or acknowledging any members walking in or out.
Another 15 minutes passed before someone else approached me. I explained Aaron had invited me in for the trial. He asked for my ID, then questioned if I really wanted to use my pass at this location, claiming the Hurst/820 gym was closer. I told him both gyms were equidistant and that I was already here and would like to try this location. He then said he can show me around but refused to activate my trial because, according to him, the other location was “closer to my address.”
This made no sense for many reasons:
He had just asked me if I was sure I wanted to use the trial at this location, which implies I had the choice.
Nothing on the website mandates a specific location.
Aaron never asked me for my exact address when he invited me to come in.
The website offered both locations as valid options.
I calmly pointed out these facts, which appeared to contradict his claims and may have made him uncomfortable. His response was both unexpected and concerning: “I have the right to refuse service to anyone.”
I was stunned. I was dressed appropriately and had been respectful the entire time. When I asked why I was being refused—so I could report it to corporate—the employee snapped, got in my face, and yelled “Get the F out of my gym!” in front of everyone. I was shocked, humiliated, and genuinely felt threatened. I left immediately and called the police.
When officers arrived, I gave them my statement and was told—shockingly—that this wasn’t the first time they had been called to this location. I was given a report number and told I could leave while they went inside to handle it.
What started as an innocent plan to check out a new gym ended with a police report. EOS Fitness Euless displayed misleading sales tactics, poor internal communication, and an aggressive, unprofessional employee. I wouldn’t recommend this place to...
Read moreDon't waste your time joining this gym. If you think you are joining this gym and you will actually be able to workout you are incorrect. This place is so over crowded you can't even get dumbbells don't bother being able to get a bench.
Then beware they will charge you crazy fees as well. Even though they advertise a $1 enrollment fee be prepared to be charged $49. The very next month they will charge you an annual enrollment fee even though you have only been a member for one month and they just got an enrollment fee from you that's $48 more than what they advertise on their website. Be warned they will also charge your bank account instead of the card on file. DO NOT provide them your bank account information. It's a scam so they can avoid paying processing fees.
They claim that a 30 day cancellation notice is all that's required but be prepared to pay for the next 2 months. You also won't get a refund for the remaining amount that extends beyond your 30 day notice, which is what your contract states will happen.
If you actually read this review and still decide to join be prepared to pay roughly $200 your first two months for a gym you won't even be able to use.
After you cancel they won't provide you written notice of your cancellation, as they should when you cancel in the club per the contract. You will have to repeatedly call and email various people including VPs to actually get a response. The responses you get will still be dismissive and on the verge of disrespectful.
My recommendation is to join any gym but this one. Don't get sucked in with the promise that the crowd will die down. It will not. See pictures uploaded from less than a week ago showing no dumbbells, leg machines, treadmills, cardio equipment in the MoviEos theater. Absolutely pathetic that they oversold memberships and designed payments so you will get nickel and dimed up front so they can get their money before you come to your senses and realize that you are paying for a service that is not being provided.
Do not join Eos save your time and money and join anywhere else.
If you take your issues to the better business bureau don't expect any action from Eos. They aren't interested in actually helping customers. They just want to scam you out of your money. Next step legal action considering they force you to sign a contract they don't provide you a copy of until after you sign it. I'm pretty sure that's an illegal practice as well. This company is incredibly crooked and so are the people running it. At this point it's time to hand over my issue to the attorneys. I'm sure legal action will shed some light on their terrible unethical...
Read moreUnfortunately, as much as I love the amenities, I will be looking for a new gym to go to. Sadly, it's turning more into planet fitness. They have overly sold memberships. It's hard to get in a workout when you have to wait for something to open up. When I went in, I got lucky, and someone was getting off a treadmill as I was trying to find one. Otherwise, I would have had to wait. It was way too packed. I completely skipped weights because I just didn't have the time to wait around. Not only is it just way too busy. I got hurt in the gym due to someone overloading plates on the incline leg press. I didn't even touch the plate, yet it fell off and broke one of my toes. I brought it the the attention to the staff. I got asked if I wanted ems to come out to go to the hospital. Nothing can be done for a broken toe. My grandmother is an RN so i already knew tape it and keep going. I showed them where it happened and how it was overloaded. I didn't want this to happen to someone else. Especially to someone who may be new. Nothing ever came out of it. Equipment is still being overloaded. I have access to a small gym with limited equipment that I can use for free and often use because I question the staff sincerely caring about the people and what goes on in the gym. I choose to pay a monthly fee to use more equipment and other amenities. But if I can't use them and don't feel safe, then what am I paying for? If you have time to spend in the gym and don't mind waiting, then it is great. But I work over 40 hours a week and 10 or more hour shifts. I have other things I have to do and not a lot of time. The gym used to be my safe place. The place I would go to even when I felt horrible because it made me FEEL better. Now, there is a disconnect. Hopefully, I will find my love for fitness again at another gym. This time, I'm not going to let someone talk me into signing up for a membership without actually doing a trial. If I had known what I know now, I would have never signed up. Also some of the staff is rude. I was talking to one staff member when another one walked up and didn't care what so ever that we were talking. They just interrupted. I was taught manners, and that was just rude. If it was an emergency situation, I could understand, but it was not. The bathrooms are nasty. Toilet paper on the floors of the stalls. Water on the floors because people don't care if they track water all over. People use equipment but do not always clean them. I made it a habit to clean...
