Meridian 98 — Restaurant in Bee Cave

As a member of a company party held there this weekend, it was just mediocre in experience. Understaffed. The two bartenders could barely keep up. We actually watched them talking to each other and fully ingnore us. Food orders were poor. This could be from the kitchen. The other side of the floor was a wedding party. Seemed both sides suffered from severe understaffed & un trained to handle the reserved parties. There were not really a lot of people in both parties. Next night we hoped they would be more organized & ready. Ummm. No. The kitchen bus boys were on their game. The catering manager was a bit rude, but she did keep the food on the buffet filled as needed. That night, the food was great. The seating was not arranged for the number of people. We actually had to eat off our laps. It was horrible. For the layout out of the floor for the use of bar and restaurant, they seriously need to rethink the space. Don’t eat here if you have food allergies or sensitivities. I had the seared ahi, which was labeled “gf” on the menu. I asked the server if that meant it was gluten free, and was told yes. But it was served with soy sauce, and the server who brought my food seemed completely unaware that soy sauce contains wheat. Even though I didn’t use the sauce, I got sick from the meal. They might have labeled things as being gluten-free on the menu, but I don’t think they know...

We popped in for drinks and to escape the heat. The view from the patio was beautiful and was also one of the main reasons we dropped in. Jessie was our server and was super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.
