Update: I removed stars for service.
The person who took our takeout order asked me if I wanted to leave a tip. ASKED me. For TAKEOUT. I can't believe any restaurant manager thinks either of these things is okay.
Tips are ONLY for SERVICE, and you NEVER ask for a tip.
Original review:
This place looks dead from outside. That is management's fault. They need to make the sign and grounds look nice so the restaurant doesn't look like it's waiting for someone to buy it and turn it into a Mexican joint.
The inside was surprisingly clean, and it appears somebody is trying to do things right, because there was fresh paint, and the upholstery and tables were in good shape. Wouldn't hurt to turn the lights up a little.
The menus were squeaky clean. Someone obviously cleans them during business hours. Take note, other restaurants.
The food was very good. I'm not a huge fan of Pizza Hut, but they make very nice pan pizza and wings. We asked for a well-done pan pizza because Pizza Hut sometimes fails to brown the bottom of the crust, and our pie was great. My wife had BBQ wings and breadsticks. Not my favorites, but they did a good job with them.
The cook messed up our pizza toppings, so the waitress left the pizza with us and comped a new one.
The waitress was very nice and extremely helpful, but she was pretty much on her own. She bounced around like a pinball because this restaurant is understaffed. I think she would shine in a place where she got more support. She clearly wanted to do a great job for us instead of just waddling around waiting to go home.
I gave 5 stars for service based on what the waitress TRIED to do in a difficult situation.
The carpeting could have been cleaner, and the same was true of the men's room, which was out of towels, but this is what happens when you don't have enough employees.
The food was crazy expensive, but that's normal in the Biden era. At least we don't get mean tweets while we descend into poverty and chaos.
If they hire more people and liven up the outside, this place should do well. I will definitely go back. The problems are minor, and cleanliness and good food always bring...
Read moreHad a coupon for a large, up to 3 topping pizza, and 8 piece bone-out wings for $18.99. This coupon expired on 4/13/19. We went into the restaurant and up to the counter to place the order for carry-out. A woman named kimmy was at the counter and started to take our order, but let me say this experience was not pleasant at all. She was short with me from the start and kept interrupting my brother and I. When she asked what toppings I wanted, I asked her what toppings are available, her response was to point to a menu on the table and sigh. After I ordered the pizza she asked me what flavour wings I wanted, again I asked what they had, she responded the same way except she said "Hurry up please" as she pointed and continued to sigh and tap her fingers on the counter. I don't appreciate being rushed before I even start in a customer service environment. I paid with a card and as she handed me the reciept to sign, she said "By the way, that coupon is expired so you need to check it before you come in next time, its my fault too but you needed to check it." Today is 3/28/19. March, not april. My brother responds "No its still march, we checked it." And she says "No hunny it's past the 13th, its the 28th." Again we insisted that it wasn't April yet. She repeated that it's expired and that we should've checked it. We left it at that and waited for our food. It came in decent time and it was exactly what we ordered. However, I will not be coming back to this pizza hut and I hope Kimmy can change her attitude, don't work in customer service if you're not prepared to be a...
Read moreThere was a time when Pizza Hut stood above all delivery pizza places. Not exactly high class, but lots better than fast food pizza. The expectation was that pizza from there was, in almost every appreciable way, better than a comparable product from Domino's, or Hungry Howie's or any of the other myriad usual suspects.
Not so anymore. Like many national restaurant, delivery or fast food chains, greater competition and shrinking margins have sapped the typical fare at a typical Pizza Hut of any of it's former desirability.
And this particular Hut even further degrades an increasingly cheapened menu by invoking poor and inconsistent cooking standards, indifferent application of ingrediants, and a generally grease laden presentation. We almost didn't eat the pizzas we ordered.
When we did, my wife and I both had upset stomachs. And we ordered separate medium pizzas so that we could each have what toppings we preferred.
Howie rules take out and delivered pizza in Belleview. The Hut here isn't even acceptable as a nostalgic experience. You can get a far better pizza at several different places. And a great pizza at a couple.
