Kent Furniture — Local services in Belleview

We stumbled across Kent Furniture while out looking at other furniture stores. So we stopped in to check them out. They had a decent sized store with a good amount of offerings. We walked around and were allowed to shop in peace. If we had questions, folks were readily available to assist us. We dealt with multiple sale people during our visit. Life happens and it interrupted our shopping visit. But the folks at Kent Furniture step right up and cover the other employees when life interferes with things. Better yet, these folks actually seemed to like each other and care about each other. That is why I gave them five stars. Because of the employees, how they care for and help each other, and how they treated us. We truly felt welcome, and not just a customer. No we didn't expect to be invited to dinner. But we felt welcome for more than what we would buy. We did make a purchase in Kent Furniture. They have free delivery, which we scheduled over a week out. We wanted to come back and look some more. Which we did. And we made another purchase which would be loaded on the truck with our first purchases. And everyone was still great. And they pretty much remembered us. Maybe not everyone right away. But most folks. Just nice people. Anyway, our furniture was delivered on the day promised. It was delivered nice and early, which allowed us to get other things done with the rest of the day. The delivery guys did admit that it was too early for the following deliveries, so we benefitted from it. The delivery guys were professional and nice people. The delivery went off without a hitch. As such, we are very satisfied. Now Kent is not perfect. Some of the prices were good, some, I didn't consider all that great. I could say the same about some of the merchandise. But for the most part, we are very satisfied with our purchases from Kent Furniture. We have purchased from five different furniture stores recently. We have visited many more than that, shopping for furniture. And we're not done yet. Kent Furniture is one of the top stores that I will go back to. They offer a lot of decent quality items (not all) that we would consider. They have mostly decent prices. The deliver and set up for free. And the employees from sales, management and delivery were all nice and professional folks. I guess there's a reason that Kent has so many five star ratings. And I'm now one of them. In one word – INCREDIBLE! We learned about Kent Furniture from The Hawkins Village Facebook Page. Someone said to ask for Stephanie. So, we arrived but did not even need to ask because she greeted us at the door. Stephanie was professional and efficient, allowing us to look around, came back for our feedback, and promptly returned with a quote in writing and expected delivery date for all the pieces we selected. We did go to City furniture and purchased a floor model chaise sofa from Hank. We also visited Family Furniture but were turned off by Tammy who followed us around and did not listen to our needs. They sold the same bedroom set our daughter selected for $1000 more than Kent w/a delivery timeline of 10 weeks. So, we raced back to Kent Furniture and once again Stephanie provided exceptional customer service. Just before 4pm as our transaction was being finalized, our son who is in Army basic training called. Both Stephanie and Kent assured us they would stay open as long as necessary so we could speak to our son privately and finished our sales transaction after. Words cannot begin to express our sincere gratitude for this empathy and respect. I noticed the American and Marine Corps flag hanging in the showroom and they explained the owner is a Veteran and they thanked us for our service and our sons. They even gave us a military discount! We received a follow-up call from Kent the next day w/a status update on one piece as promised. The furniture was delivered 3 days later by two very careful and conscientious gentlemen with a follow-up call from Stephanie to ensure our satisfaction. She also emailed a revised version of the bill and sent pictures of options of items of interest we did not find in the showroom. My recent visit to Kent furniture left me deeply dissatisfied due to the lack of attention and poor service provided. Upon entering the store, I found an employee comfortably seated on a couch, engrossed in their phone and seemingly disinterested in attending to customers.

Throughout my time there, this individual completely ignored my presence, failing to offer any assistance or even a simple acknowledgment. It was disheartening to witness such a lack of professionalism and basic courtesy. As I made my way out, I was asked in a casual manner if I found everything I needed, which only added to the overall disappointment.

The level of service displayed was far below expectations and left a lasting negative impression. A customer expects attentiveness and helpfulness, which unfortunately were sorely lacking during my visit.
