RJ's Diner — Restaurant in Belleview

Honestly I had high hopes for the food and service, you walk in and it really does have that Diner feel. Sat down to a young lady that barely spoke to us and our hint to order was her staring at us, no words were spoken. I order mozzarella Sticks for the table, we get greeted with crumbling sticks of freezer burnt cheese. I order breakfast bowl with hashbrowns, eggs, bacon, gravy. The hashbrowns were so oiled nothing was crispy, couldn't get past one bite. Not to mention they forgot half of my wife meal and have the bill before it even came out. I had not been to this location since it was Plaza Lunch, and that was quite some time ago. The menu has been reprinted to indicate the new name, but it’s basically the same. Service was satisfactory, as was the food. However, there is nothing that will make me return. Most of the group with whom I ate agreed that other places in town had better quality of whichever item we ordered. Everything I had was canned except the bread that my open face turkey entrée was on. Gravy and carrots were definitely not fresh, potatoes-likely instant. Overall, not excellent, not good, just...

Went there today and two large tables followed us in. They got served before my wife and I. The wait staff had hair flying and didn't look like they had showered. Nasty. I paid at the register and looked straight into to the kitchen Was very sorry after seeing the unclean grill and deep fryer and hep in the kitchen. This has to be addressed. The health department needs to be advised. I'm certified in food and sanitation and find this place very serious for food...
