after my mom had shown me an advertisement flyer for chaos, i was excited that there was finally a seemingly authentic ramen restaurant... in belleville of all places?! so me, my sister, and her boyfriend were all excited to sit down and try some of their food because judging from the google reviews it seemed promising. however, they didn't feel like going for a few days because we had tried to go on tuesday but they were closed early due to flash flooding. i got tired of waiting so i just ordered the pork bone ramen for pickup. the lady who answered the phone was rude as she hung up immediately after i was done placing the order, not to mention just by walking in i could definitely tell this wasn't.... authentic based on the people working there 💀 it was the first obvious red flags that i ignored and i paid the price.
when i got home and opened the to-go container, i was greeted by a weirdly stale smell and the soup itself looked like thrown together slop... another red flag. i could feel my appetite diminishing but i paid almost $20 for this, i'm going to atleast try it.
taking a few bites of the noodles and egg and vegetables, i couldn't believe how disappointed i was. the base of the soup tasted like old artificially flavored pork stock, and all of the ingredients were rubbery and slimey and had no sort of flavor of their own. combined it tasted like they had preprepared the soups several weeks in advance and just reheated it to make it seem fresh. i mean... just LOOK at the picture and tell me if this looks appetizing to y'all 💀💀💀 i had put it in the fridge and my grandma almost threw it out because she thought it was drain salad in greasy dishwater. not even going to go into detail of how just a few bites of this pig slop had sent me straight to the toilet fighting for my life. and it hurts to say that because i love noodles of all kinds, but i wouldn't feed this to a mangy dog... because even it would deserve more mercy than being sentenced to forcing this primordial soup down its gullet. if i had anything good to say about this establishment, its that it lives up to its name because the food was definitely chaotic 💀
i will definitely not be eating anything here again, and after just one bite my sister thanked me for saving her the time, money, and effort she would have otherwise wasted pursuing this sorry excuse of food. if any of you have even half of a brain, i suggest you heed my warning and...
Read moreWhat's this make? At least 8th time: had to volcano sushi. It was awesome. Check out the picture. They make the sushi into a circle and then pile it high with shredded crab and scallops. They have also completely redone their fried pickles and they are thick sliced and great.
Went again tonight for about the 7th time for more sushi and tried a "flight" of their yummy desserts. Mochi pic added.
Third visit: had sushi with my daughter. It was very good. We got the fried jalapeños and they were amazing.
Second visit: ordered sushi and it was fantastic. The friend who came with me ordered a burger, which he loved but it took about 35 minutes and there was not a busy crowd.
First visit: Went on the tail end of opening weekend and the Ramen was all gone, along with salmon and the carbonation for sodas. Pretty sure they just got hammered with business all weekend. We had a very mixed selection of food tonight. Pizza, burger, 3 different sushi rolls, fried pickles and 2 different sandwiches.
First of all the sandwiches come with fries. It doesn't say that on the menu and for the price I was surprised it came with fries. $6 gets you a single burger with fresh vegetables, onions, tomato, lettuce, and fries. That's crazy and I love it! My son said the patty melt was one of the best things he's ever had.
A few weeks ago, before the grand opening, I had my retirement here and they did an amazing job
I think they do have some areas to grow on but this being the first weekend they handled it well. Hoping it...
Read moreI’ve been to Chaos 3 times so it’s not like I haven’t given them a chance. Every time the service has been slow but this last time it was the worst. My cousin and I and her 2 grandkids went there on Saturday 12/7. All the other restaurants were packed because we tried to get into them first. Chaos only had 4 tables with people at them. We stood there awhile with another group but it took them time to notice us I guess. We were seated but didn’t get menus. We waited and the group at the next table left before they ordered. They were seated after us so when they left we took their menus. Took about 20 minutes for them to wait on us. At this point there are only 3 tables with people. We ordered water, tea, 2 rolls, 2 apps, Mac and cheese and grill cheese for the 2 kids. Waited 10 minutes for water/tea. Took half hour for sushi, another 10 minutes for apps and another 15 minutes for kids Mac and cheese and grill cheese. There were at least 2 waiters and 4 people in kitchen that we saw. Had to go up to counter for our check because we had tickets to an event in St Louis at 745 and it was 715 by now. The Mac and cheese was definitely warmed up from a big batch and looked dried out so that wasn’t the hold up. The other stuff was just ok. Not worth the wait and the food that was supposed to be hot was only warm when we got it. No reason for the long wait was given. We will not be...
