Sugar High Bakery & Cafe — Restaurant in Belleville

Today made my ultimate decision on not coming back here regardless on how much money ive spent here. The food is great the service is horrible. They only ever have 1 young guy taking orders and making food, he doesnt talk much and seems to always be in a bad mood. I came in today on my way to work like always and ordered just a biscuits n gray with no one else in line or waiting for food. He gets the bowl out to warm my gravy. A couple walk in with a child. And he immediately stops my order to take their order when all I ordered was biscuits and gravy. And he could have asked them to wait one moment while he at least put my gravy in the microwave. The child takes forever to decide what he wants and I continue to wait for an order of just plain Biscuits and gravy that all he has to do is warm up. After their order, he then starts walking around looking for I don't know what. He goes to the back and asks a lady who tells him where it's at. He's getting proceeds to start. Making this lady's drink that came after me and still not touching my biscuits and gravy. So I politely asked if it's going to be much longer for my biscuits and gravy. Because I will just refund I have to get to work. He tells me give him 4 minutes I guess to continue making her drink. He finishes her drink and then finally decides to make my biscuit and gravy I ordered fifteen minutes ago. Then didn't even...

My partner, my brother, and I love sugar high. We first ordered on doordash (specifically because the pictures were great!) and loved the food and coffees. Later tried the lotus drinks and a variety of other food in person. At this point we have been through at least half of the lotus and breakfast menu and some of the lunch. online, they always call if they’re out of something and offer to substitute another item (always take the substitution, it’s good no matter what they send). In person, I don’t mind if the front counter isn’t too chatty, they’re always quick and kind and my order comes out right. They honor requests (even as silly as changing a lid for your cup. It was small to them but big to me). It can get pricey at times BUT in comparison to chains that serve similar style food and drinks, it’s the same if not cheaper. My drink is made the same every time and I don’t have to worry about it tasting different because of who’s at the counter like chains! Consistent, friendly, and supporting small business. Easy to see why the line can be to the door on weekends. Only recently learned they have evening hours. Will be visiting more. It’s nice as a consumer to feel like my money was well spent....

TLDR: This places seems pretty great And can't wait to try out the multitude of other things they offer.

I stopped by this place because my usual place was closed and I really needed some chocolate. I walk in and I'm immediately greeted and told about the place after I say I've never been in there before. That was definitely very helpful because I have social anxiety so that took a lot of pressure off me. After being told about the baked goods, sushi, coffee and alcoholic beverages, I settled on two brownies and a cupcake. And holy bajebus, I have no idea what illicit substances they put in those brownies (lol, joking obviously) but my diet is about to be thrown out the window.
