- delicious hash brown!! - Food: 4 stars Service: 3 stars Price: 3 stars Ambiance: 4 stars Overall: 3.5 stars It was a bit past noon and there were 3 other groups dining here. We waited a bit to get seated since there was only one waitress available. The interior looks identical to waffler, which was the restaurant that this place took over. The menu was definitely more interesting than the old place as they have more choices, even a korean fried chicken sandwich. We ordered the lake hills scramble with hash browns and English muffin ($19), and a spicy chicken omelette with hash brown and garlic baguette ($19). The pricing is high, which is probably why the place is quite empty most of the time. The old place had the same issue as far as I could remember. Our food came quickly and mine was more of a Mexican style omelette which comes with sour cream and salsa at the side. The hash brown was smaller but it was just a thin layer, so it was super crispy and good. I also like the English muffin more as the garlic baguette doesn't have much garlic sauce/taste. It might not matter much, but the spicy chicken wasn't spicy at all. Overall we enjoyed the food here and took about 1/3 of each plate home as we can't finish. They have two individual restrooms here with a baby changing station.

Got the omelette plate and I was seriously impressed. The omelette was soft, fluffy, and well-seasoned—exactly how you'd want it to be. But the real standout? The hash browns. Golden and crisp on the outside, but soft and buttery on the inside. You can tell they’re made fresh, not some frozen puck from a box. Honestly, I’d come back just for those hash browns alone. Then there was the salad. Now, I don’t usually care much for greens, but the server mentioned the balsamic dressing was house-made, so I gave it a shot. One bite turned into another, and the next thing I knew… I’d cleared the entire salad. I never thought I’d be “that person” who eats all the salad and brings half the omelette home, but here we are. That dressing was tangy, lightly sweet, and actually made me like the greens. A miracle. Even the toast was grilled just right—not soggy or too hard—and the portion size overall was massive. Considering the quality, freshness, and presentation, I’d say the pricing is more than fair—especially for a Bellevue spot. Service was great too. Friendly, laid-back, but on point. This place may be new, but you can tell they care about what they’re doing. Already looking forward to my next visit… and yes, I’m ordering the salad again. Never thought I’d say that.

I came to Brunchbar because a friend insisted I had to try their Filet Mignon Steak Salad — and wow, they weren’t kidding. What I thought would be just another salad turned out to be a restaurant-level entrée with serious finesse. The filet mignon was tender, juicy, and grilled to perfection. Each bite melted in my mouth. It came beautifully plated on a bed of crisp greens, sweet cherry tomatoes, fresh avocado slices, and the most delightful house-made mandarin dressing that added a subtle citrusy brightness without overpowering the steak. I honestly wasn’t expecting this level of execution — especially at a brunch spot! But the experience didn’t stop with the food. The ambience? Warm and elegant. The table was set with filtered water already waiting, and a curated caddy of condiments including pink Himalayan salt, freshly ground pepper, and artisanal hot sauces — little touches that really showed me they care about the details. The lighting was soft and inviting, making it the kind of place where you want to linger and savor. It’s rare to find a place that nails food and atmosphere, but Brunchbar delivers both with style. I’m already planning my next visit — and this time, I’m bringing friends. This spot deserves all the buzz it’s getting, and then some.

Do NOT eat here. I’ve never written a restaurant review in my life but I had to today. I’m from out of state and temporarily living here for work and found this place and just had a lunch here this past Wednesday and had a great experience. There was only 1 other customer there but Jerome was my server and the food was good and he was a delightful person very nice, welcoming, and talkative and it made me want to come back. This morning I came in for breakfast and brought my mom who was in town visiting and we came here but it was full. It was no problem though, we checked in and put in my phone number and waited outside the restaurant to be called since there wasn’t a lot of seating inside the front of the store. There were people that came outside to call on the next table and there was a lot of people waiting outside the restaurant big groups. Then 45 minutes passed by and still no one called out to us and no text or phone call. I went inside to talk to one of the waitresses and she told me she HAD called my name but since I wasn’t INSIDE the restaurant she moved on to the people after me. She then told me it might be ANOTHER 30 minute wait. What the hell is the point in asking for my phone number if you aren’t going to use it?! And why not come outside to call out for the next table if that’s what you were previously doing!? The waitress was very insincere and didn’t care about us just gave a fake apology. My mom and me end up going somewhere else to eat. Never coming back here again such a ridiculous experience I only wish I could give...

Brunchbar: A Culinary Disaster Disguised by a Cool Name— Updated clarification After Owner Feedback

After receiving a response from the owner, I felt it was necessary to update my review. While the staff was professional and kind throughout my experience, the real issue lies with the food—particularly the steak & possibly a bit about training in the kitchen.

I ordered a filet mignon with eggs cooked medium, hash browns, and sourdough toast, but what I received was far from acceptable. The steak was the biggest disappointment; it clearly wasn’t a filet mignon and I question it was even a sirloin. It was grainy and tough, more akin to a flatiron cut. I felt completely ripped off, especially considering the $24 price tag—it was worth no more than $15.

The runny eggs and non-buttered toast were just the icing on the cake of disappointment. The soggy hash browns looked like they had come straight from a wet mop, and the toast was so bland it might as well have been cardboard.

While the staff did their best to rectify the situation, sending out a replacement to the well done first mistake, the second steak still didn’t meet my expectations, tasting more like a cheap cut than the filet I was promised.

In summary, Brunchbar has a long way to go in the kitchen. While I appreciate the owner’s response and commitment to improvement, the fraudulent feeling by the representation of the steak I was served leaves me unable to recommend this place. I advise the owner to address these issues to avoid...
