Wow! This place is amazing. First, the actual physical setting- nothing fancy, but it was very clean and well-lit. Having been in food service, I can tell they take pride in the cleanliness of the restaurant. Second, the food- I ordered General chicken. The chicken was just crispy enough with a flavorful sauce that included red bell pepper pieces. Both the vegetable and meat pieces were cut into bite-sized pieces. My mom had the combination lo mein. Also very tatsy and well-prepared. The meat was tender. My dad had the honey walnut chicken. He thought it was just okay, I did as well. It was just a bit overly-sweet to us, but I know many people do like it sweet. Mom said her hot and sour soup was too salty. I didn't try it. My wanton soup was just right and came with three wantons in it. Overall, the food was very good. Lastly, the service. As good as the food was, the service was even better. The lady at the counter was incredible and inteacted with my folks in a very friendly and understanding way that showed both caring and insight. What a gem this place is. We had enough fod left over from the large orders (only $2 more than the regular) for two more meals for each of us. And they offer a cash discount. We look forward to our next dining...
Read moreFirst the Good: probably the best Crab Rangoon in town! Perfect. I got shrimp egg fu yung, the shrimp were BIG and tasty. My wife ordered Beef&Broccoli w/ added veggies - veggies were perfectly cooked and beef was tender and flavorful. Next - stuff that wasn't to my liking, but might be to yours: the egg fu yung patties were very thick. I prefer thinner. The dipping sauce for potstickers was thickened - weird but tasty. Also, the sauce on both the egg fu yung and B&B were very very sweet. Finally - stuff that we didn't like: the hot & sour soup was over-thickened, no heat at all, and needed more vinegar. The pot stickers were totally forgettable. The fried rice side was very plain - no flavor. Overall - it was OK. I prefer more authentic styles of Chinese, but I recognize that in addition to "Szechuan", "Cantonese", "Mandarin" et.al, "American" is IMHO a valid category ;) The place was very clean, everyone was very friendly. It's very casual - paper cups, throw-away plates etc. If you prefer "American Style" chinese, fast, casual - this is a good spot for that. If you are looking for authentic traditional dishes - this place will not be for you. But definitely get the...
Read moreI'm not one who typically leaves reviews but I had to this time. Really wanted Chinese last night and ever since my old place changed owners we haven't found a place we really enjoy. We tried this place simply because of all the reviews which is why I had to leave my own. Hands down the best place we've tried. My boyfriend got egg foo young and really enjoyed it. I ordered shrimp fried rice and it was amazing. The shrimp was huge and clean and delicious and the rice was the best I've probably ever had. Rice is my favorite but I have swallowing issues and choke on it if it's too dry and I didn't have that problem here. Because I'm picky with my rice I also got an order of PB chicken in case I couldn't eat the rice and that was really good too! Both the regular crab Rangoon and the jalapeno crab Rangoon were really good too. My only complaint is that the egg drop soup was extremely thick for our liking but even having said that the flavor was still the best I've had. Will definitely be going back and have found our new go to...
