I like all kinds of restaurants, the fancy and the fast food, chains and local places. If it's good it's good. It's my second time at a Popeye's and first trying this new Bellevue location, and I can say this place is good!
It was a calm Monday afternoon. A steady number of people passed through the drive-thru, a few people came inside to pickup, and I sat down for the full experience. I was mostly blown away by the appearance. Most fast food places have the sticky floor, dirty tables, chairs not pushed in, kids running wild, rude staff (if any at all). Not here! I was immediately greeted and waited on, noticing a full and busy crew in the back. No mumbling teenagers playing on their phones! The seating area was nearly spotless, tabletops all wiped clean, no napkins or food debris on the ground. This is where my annoyance with most fast food restaurants comes from, they're just gross. Oh and they got the order perfectly right, nothing missing unlike what some places do (ahem McDonalds!).
I ordered the 5 Piece chicken tenders in spicy variety. The mashed potatoes were smooth, no lumps, and a unique gravy that was layered, so it was pretty evenly distributed even in the larger size container. Fries were a shoestring cut also with a nice seasoning. It also included a biscuit and I opted for the frozen mango lemonade which was especially refreshing. The was a standard Coke machine off to the side so you can get refills. It's not often you leave with positive impressions of a fast food restaurant, but I look forward to coming here again...
Read moreI was only going to complain about that both of my drinks have ice in them when specifically ordered without ice (the cold messes with my teeth) even after looking at my order...after getting a dirty look for having to asking for my 2nd drink that was ordered. Like I was trying to get something for free when I paid for it. Talk about rude! But, the plot thickens. I ordered the same thing I always order...the 1/4 pound popcorn shrimp...amongst other things. This is something I get at least once a week, so I'd like to say that I'm pretty familiar with it. I opened the box...and I swear it was like half the order. It wasnt just short a few, it was half empty. Like it was someone else's and they didn't finish it. If I wasnt already home before I noticed this, I definitely wouldve called them out over this. I never finish a box of shrimp. Half way to 3/4 at the most. This box of shrimp didn't stand a chance. Wiped it out and was still hungry. But wait...there's still more! Also on the order was a bacon and cheese chicken sandwich. Guess what I found when I pulled out the sandwich? Not the bacon and cheese I paid for! And I've got a pic of that...with the receipt! Yall really should employ people who can read...so yall dont get lumped into the same atrocious service as you get from the McDonald's youre next to. Do...
Read moreCame in during lunch. It was busy. It's understandable. New workers new employees.
I ordered a 12 piece "spicy", 2 strawberry biscuits, a lemonade.
Order rang up wrong was charged for 12 PC biscuits so the manager had to refund it. Had to remind them of my drink order. Came home and I never recipe the strawberry biscuits nor was I given spicy 12 PC.
All I gotta say is in a rush, take a sec to read the order and double check the order. Doesn't take even 10 secs. Anyway, kee0 up the good work. Will be back.
Update: ordered again, manager this time was at the register, I keep asking for frozen lemonade but he keeps pointing at the regular self serve lemonade. He is also very hard to hear. Seeing how busy it is in the establishment, the guy speaks too softly and quietly to hear anything. They don't really offer Sauces unless requested and they are stingy with it. This could be the same employees from other popeyes and or like on opening day, many non employees were seen entering the kitchen and putting on the uniform. So we can't be sure if they actually work for them.
Furthermore, I hope this doesn't turn out like the one in...
