(1/2) Honestly, I would have rated this subway better in the past. I have lived in the area for almost 15 years and used to come all the time growing up This was always our go-to subway. Loved it. However, the other day my friend and I encountered by far the worst customer service experience and the same went for today. The other day we both arrived at 9:45... Not totally knowing that they were only open till 10pm. The 2 men working were beginning to pack up and upon ordering the guy turned off the toaster. He said "we will not be able to toast your sandwiches tonight. I turned it off." It was fine, I didn't mind, I could live without toasted bread and so could my friend. He ordered his sandwich and I ordered mine. I asked for flatbread and the guy told me "no. I have to toast it first" I said, I didn't mind or need it toasted like I said before. He said "choose something else." so I did. My friend got his microwaved instead and then afterwards the guy (Chris) lined the sandwiches up to put on the toppings. He started with my friend first. He put his toppings on and I put on mine. Everything is fine at this point, other than his rudeness. Then he charged for the sandwiches, (Overcharged) and when asking about it he said "no. I'm right." alright, not a big deal, just a few bucks. Then we told him thank you and to have a good night. He said nothing.
Next, we arrived home to open the bag of sandwiches. The sandwiches were wrong. He put my friends toppings on my mine and vice versa which honestly would not have been that huge of a deal had my friend not liked anything he got on his sandwich and also once again vice versa. So, I called subway and Chris answered. I let him know what happened and was very polite about it, he responded saying "Yeah, I remember making your sandwiches and honestly that's on you. It was your responsibility to watch what I was putting on each sandwich not mine." I replied with, "You told him that it was his sandwich and asked him what he wanted on the one that was in your hand. It was a mix up. That shouldn't have to be held against the customer. That's not the customers responsibility. It is yours." He said "I really don't care or know what you want me to do about it." I asked him if we could get the sandwiches remade or credited back for the mess up." He said "No. Its not my problem. If its that big of a deal to you then you can talk to my general manager who is here tomorrow." and he hung up the phone. I came in today (2 days later) and spoke to the manager. First thing she said was "are you the two who called about your sandwiches being wrong?" we said yes and she then said "Well I was told that you made each others sandwiches for each other is that true?" We both said "No." that would not even make sense. Why would I make his sandwich for him and he make mine for me when I have no idea what he wants vice versa and when he is standing right beside me? We then asked her if there was a way she could refund us, especially since we ended up throwing the sandwiches away and having to get something else that night. She said "no. but I can make you a sandwich right now. well we had both just eaten so we weren't hungry so we declined the offer. She then proceeded to say she could make them right then and then give them to us and we could "stick them in the fridge and eat them later when we were hungry." We also declined due to a 4 hour drive to eastern Iowa a few hours later for Christmas. She then said 'Well I can make a note and leave it on the register and you can come in within the next few days and get a sandwich (that would mean xmas eve and xmas day so that obviously wont be happening either. She was rude and continued to run us over every time we talked. Working in the hospitality industry myself, I was always taught that the customer is always right, this subway must disagree, I'm also one to never complain. Very disappointed. A lot has changed at this...
Read moreA year ago I would have given this location 5 stars. This location changed employees since then and now it's, check your whole order before you drive off because they seem to screw up every order we place. The consistency is hit or miss each time. Sometimes they forget an ingredient in our sandwiches or salads, next time all the lettuce looks like it should have been thrown out weeks ago. Several times we have ordered cookies and at least one or two looked like they either took a bite out of them or just threw a half a cookie in the bag. They aren't real people friendly either. Pull up to the speaker to place your order and they sound like you just interrupted their break time! One time they completely messed up our whole order and we called because we live to far to bring the whole order back to them (which the manager asked us to do), the manager had advised us that if we couldn't bring it back there was nothing they could do! I do like this location because of the drive through, I have a hard time walking, but the crew and manager you had about a year or so ago was 180% better all the way around! That crew never goofed up one single order we ever had and the sandwiches and salads were made perfect! Who ever has this franchise, I'd make changes soon! We've cut our patronage by 3/4 lately. We're very reluctant to go there now and end up selecting Don & Millies across the street or any of the other restaurants,...
Read moreToday I purchased a foot long steak sub extra steak,Italian bread .I also purchased a churro. Both the bread and churro were so hard, it was unedible. I called the store asked to speak to a manager, I was advised there was no manager and the person that answered stated they were the senior staff. I explained to him and asked if it could be returned, he acknowledged that they were training someone, and that was most likely why the food was hard as it may have been toasted too long . However he said he could not remake it or refund it did not receive a receipt either . He said what do you want me to do about it? than when I stated. I wanted it remaded , he stated it wasn't possible. He wasn't very polite. I'll be calling back to speak to the manager. I however believe if you aren't going to have a manager on duty, your lead should have the power to make things right. When it's a...
