The rice noodle was ok. I had better. The broth was a bit watery and could use more flavor. The brisket was not like slices of pho brisket but more like chinese braised brisket where it is very gelatinous/ tendon/ gristle and not "meaty". The toppings that came with it were ok.
The only reason this place isn't 2 stars cause their other appetizer dishes were better. The popcorn chicken as in most places use a dark meat. It was nice and crunchy, coated with a numbing spice. The egg waffle had more crunch than happy lemon. If you like more chewy on the inside then this place is not for you.
Water refills were hard to come by so service was not attentive. The timing of food was slow. It took 20- 25 minutes to get the popcorn chicken. I did see a batch of popcorn chicken come out at once. I suspect that fried multiple orders at once. You can order additional food by scanning the qr code on your table.
The milk tea was pretty good for a restaurant. The milk tea is $4 which is decent ( one size ).
Free wifi!
Parking There is a parking lot shared with many restaurants nearby. Depending on the time and day parking could be hard to come by. I usually walk from Crossroads mall over to grab food in this area.
They have two gender neutral bathrooms that were clean.
I would come back for the appetizers and desserts.
Not great for large groups since their tables mostly fit 4 people and the space of this place can't really 12 people next to each...
Read moreI love Yun Nan rice noodles, so I was pretty happy to find this spot. I came on a Sunday evening around 8PM and wow the place was pretty full, mostly Asians. We stood around awkwardly for a few minutes until someone came to serve us, that was weird, and then couldn't really hear that the waitress talked to us. She took us to the table and gave us menus, brought out water and utensils a bit later. I ordered the spicy fish rice noodle and replaced spam with corn. At first I wanted to replace the spam with mushrooms as in the photo on the menu but she said there's no mushrooms; apparently the little dishes in the photo on the menu is not what they actually use. In any case, I replaced spam with corn, and the food came out not too long after. The food was flavorful and plentiful, but the fish was coated in flour and didn't taste great. The noodles were slippery and not really chewy which was odd. We were also given the bill face-side up (!) when we were both clearly still eating. I'm a bit torn between giving this place 3 stars vs 4 stars, but since service was really odd (waiting around after we walked in and given the bill face-side up), I'm going to give it 3 stars. Pricey too at ~$18 post-tax, but lots of food! Also pretty thirsty afterward, not sure whether from spice...
Read moreFirst time here. Didn't know what to expect, as I just randomly chose to eat here because it was the closest dine-in restaurant I could see from Crossroads. Service was friendly and server explained their menu options. I chose a hot pot set that came with the soup, noodles, and a bunch of small servings of meat and veggies. It was brought to the table quickly, but there was no rush for me to finish and get out. Pork bone broth was mild and flavorful. Spicy options were available, but it was a hot day and I didn't want to sweat. Meal included a glass of juice, which was a pleasant surprise, cold, and tasty. Prices were reasonable (less than eating at the food court across the street) with far better atmosphere and service. Would definitely go again, especially on a cooler day when I can more comfortably venture into the...
