First time ever going here for some breakfast and the outside looks amazing. The inside is not so grate. It honestly looks like they have given up on presentation and respect to them selves for a place that has served there community for many decades. Boxes of supplies on the counter tops and the way they present them selves. I ordered a stake and egg breakfast with well done hashbrowns and scrambled eggs. I was asked how did I want my stake thinking it may be a bit thick to where it would matter if it is medium or not. Nope!!!!! It was a thin carne asada peace of meat with the silver skin (Elastin) still attached to the hole thing and it was so chewy it was not pleasant to eat. Hashbrowns were not well done but the eggs were good. Coffee (Café) was ok. I love the Coffee cups they had. Over all I would go again just incase the day I went was a bad day. Maybe they just had shipment come in and they had to place everything on the counter tops? Maybe something more personal was going on and no one could focus? Maybe the Sheff was having a bad day? Over all the place has been open for many decades and has stayed open for a reason! Check out this place and let them know if anything with your order was not correct. Im sure they will take good care of you as they have taken care of there community sense 1978. I believe its a family business..... give places a second chance. Unless your...
Read moreA very small country, local diner down in Bellflower. I drove down from West LA specifically for this diner because I am working through a list of all the diners in Los Angeles County. I don’t come to this area often so it was nice to mix it up. The menu is very limited, but does have a lot of great American diner classics on it. Our server was nice however everything that we ordered and getting checked on was very delayed. They forgot our drink refills two separate times and also all of our food items came out very slowly. They also kept running out of coffee because a couple large groups kept getting all of their coffees refilled and then I’d have to wait for mine to brew. Pricing is fair and portion sizes are medium so if you are in the area, it can be a good deal. They don’t have a dedicated parking lot, but street parking is extremely easy to find in this part of town. I was able to find a free space right out front.
For our first visit, we chose the Eggs Benedict and the Chilaquiles with Chile Verde. The Eggs Benedict was actually pretty good and I especially enjoyed the cheddar cheese mixed in. The chilaquiles were also very nice and the sauce really added to the overall flavors. The eggs on the Eggs Benedict were a bit overdone and not as runny as I like, but still, both dishes had some nice flavors.
I would recommend if you are in the area and are searching for a nice...
Read moreLet me start by saying the customer service was the only good thing to make the place bearable. As soon as I walk into the place I was immediately put off by the decor, as it resembled a dingy abandoned house with stains on the walls and ceiling. The walls were covered with memorabilia a hoarder, or cat lady would have , no offense. The airvents had money bills covered in dust. The seating was awkward for a party of five adults and four children, booths are not good option in a restaurant environment. The seating was turned with sharps edges exposed. The worse of all was the food itself, my wife and I had the fajita omelet, which we imagined it had actually had skirt beef strips, we were wrong. Instead the omelet was composed of over-oiled chopped vegetables, and processed philly cheese steak sandwich meat and overall bland. The prices were affordable, and I would have rather paid more for tastier and natural food. I personally would not recommend it, and with that in mind people have different taste so I might appeal to...
