I am super disappointed and shocked about my experience here. When I asked for the Wi-Fi password, a staff member told me I needed to buy something. I said, of course, I plan to! But I noticed the line was really long and just needed to hop on a quick 15 min first on my laptop. Despite that, he came outside three separate times to remind me to buy something, and even interrupted my call to say I had a 20-minute limit before they'd force me to make a purchase. I was literally on a zoom call and this staff member kept staring at me and saying YOU HAVE to buy something to use the Wi-Fi. What in the world? Such bizarre behavior. I have never been treated like this at a coffee shop. If you want me to buy something that badly, why don't you ask "is there something I can order for you?" or "I recommend ordering this drink, etc." That's basic customer service!
Needless to say, I did buy a matcha right after my call LIKE I PLANNED TO. Its not like i was sitting there for hours, my call did run a little longer than expected but overall, I was literally there for 20 mins. I told a friend who lives nearby about my experience and she mentioned the staff is pretty rude based on a prior interaction she had. I will not...
Read moreI promise this place never fails! Well, not yet, for me. This is probably my sixth time coming, but I never gave it a review. I came today early, right about when they opened, and it wasn't packed at all! It was super empty and nice to relax. The place was super clean, and everyone was really kind and patient while I was choosing what to order.
I ordered the Oat-Based Spanish Iced Coffee. Cost: $7 Rating: 10/10
If you want a little more sweetness, you can add cream on top for $1.25, which I didn't, but I'm sure it would have been great with or without.
My amiga ordered their seasonal drink, the Soulmate with heart sprinkles. Cost: $8.50 Rating: 10/10
You must also try their pastries. They have a great selection of different types to choose from early in the morning! I ordered their Passion fruit and Kouign Amann bread. It was really good but a little too sweet for my liking. Cost: $6.50 Rating: 7/10
All their drinks are amazing, and the quality of their...
Read moreAs a LA resident with 4 years as a barista who’s been here four times now I can say the coffee and matcha is fantastic. The flavors are that feel elevated and high end. The atmosphere is alright but the music is just awful. Every time I’ve come in it’s full of cussing, taking down on women, drugs, and just SO MUCH of the N word. It makes me super uncomfortable and makes it hard to work here for very long or ever consider bringing kids. The service is always about a 15 minute wait even when the store is fairly empty. So if you’re looking for a place to grab something on the go, this is not it… They do not have an order ahead option either. which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, just something to keep in mind. The other thing that has bugged me for the past two times I’ve visited is the barista finishing her text before she helps me out. It’s just not good etiquette. I’ll come back for the coffee and because it’s local, but not for the atmosphere or...
