First time client.... I was looking for someone to do an up do for my upcoming wedding in April. I had an event planned for Dec 19th so I thought that would be the perfect trial run..... I arrived at the salon where i was greeted by a very polite receptionist. She asked if I would like some water and then let me know where to wait for my stylist. Id like to share that over the past 3 years I had been growing my hair out from a very short pixie cut to all one length past my shoulders. I have never had long hair my entire life, so this was going to be a real treat! My stylist came out and was very friendly. She asked what I wanted and I let her know she had carte blanche to do anything she would like, I just wanted an updo and I was headed to a Christmas party right after I left. I was dressed semi formally when I arrived. She said great and started in on my updo. After several attempts over an hour, she tried and tried but failed to get my hair into an updo, she used hardly any product and some pins but I couldnt see what kind. Needless to say she had another client come in and in one last attempt I asked if she could just do a standard french braid and tuck the tail up, she failed at even doing that. I never received what I came into the salon for. I asked if I had to pay anything and she said I had to talk with the front desk person. So I went over and asked, she said she guessed not since I had nothing done. I called the next day to talk with the owner and left a message. Then saw they had charged me for the service I didn't receive. I called back later that day and had to leave another message. By the next day around 12 I called again and AGAIN had to leave a message. I waited till 1 the following day and called again. She said oh didn't the owner get back to me yet? I said no and left another message. Finally i received a call from a gentleman who listened to what I had to say. His response was "Let me talk with the stylist and get back to you. He stated that he was told I had fine hair. I asked why that made a difference, he didn't have an answer. He said he would call me back the next day. I never heard back so around 6pm I texted and stated that since I hadn't heard back I would be disputing the charge. I received a dry response that it had been refunded. There was never an apology, how can we make this right? we shouldn't have charged you, NOTHING. Just an accusation that it was my fault I had just fine hair. The customer service was Abhorrent, As a small business owner I would never treat a client that way, especially a first time client. Thank goodness I didn't go there on my wedding day! I left there feeling frustrated, ugly and that it was all my fault. Shame on you for making someone feel this way and then not even caring about how you treated me. No one should ever be made to feel that way ever! DON'T go to this salon. They clearly don't care how...
Read morePlease, do not go here. She does not deserve the business in such an artistic cool town with so many other awesome shops and owners who do care about you and your hair as much as you do. Worst hair experience ever. The owner should be ashamed of herself. All my hair is chopped off, wayyy more short than it should be. I don't even have tips on styling this now pixie cut, which was meant to be a bob cut, which I'm used to. If I'd wanted a pixie cut, I would have looked at more pictures and asked my stylist for tips on how to style it! I just moved to the area, totally broke, just out of inpatient rehabilitation, my friend referred me here and offered to pay for my hair to be cut and highlighted. Needless to say, the next morning I took a better look after the shower and there were chunks of hair longer on one side than the other, and random areas of longer hair. It's just not a great cut. I had to buy products that I would not have had to buy, and I had to box color it with a beauty supply color as well, because my blonde didn't get blonde enough and it looked orange.
I called to salon to ask if they could please fix the cut. My friend paid for the service. The owner took some money off, which is fine, but then fix my hair so that I can live with it please, and so I don't have to go pay for the same thing somewhere else. I don't know about anyone else, but I've worked at salons, and if our stylists or the salon made that kind of mistake, we would have fixed it. It's not like I'm some hard to please, horrible, liar just trying to get a free salon experience! I wasn't even paying. I just am apalled at the owner. I received a call back to tell me that I need to wait until the 28th of September because the salon owner is out of the country, and there's nothing they can do until then.
Again, PLEASE, do not go here. She does not deserve the business in such an artistic cool town with so many other awesome shops and owners who do care about you and your hair as...
Read moreI have been loyal to this salon for almost 15 years, unfortunately, my stylist Jordan left to work at Sandalwood. Out of loyalty, I stayed with Blessings and had the owner color my hair. I asked that she follow the exact recipe (which they have on file) that Jordan used in the past. Unfortunately, she did not and completely botched my partial foil. I was leaving for a wedding/vacation so I left with my hair wet and didn’t notice. She told me to contact her when I got back if I didn’t like it. I’m half African American so I have a hard enough time finding stylists in Bellingham as is. My roots were a completely different color than the rest of my hair and when I contacted the salon, the owner said that it had been a long time but to email her pictures and she would get back to me. I did and never heard back. I will never be back to this salon. Not only did the color turn out completely wrong, my hair was over processed and I lost about 6” due to breakage. I love this salon but the treatment I received from the owner was bad enough that I’ll never come back. To imply that I wanted a free root touch up when my hair was not only the wrong color, but badly damaged, was shameful. I would’ve PAID for her to fix it. I understand that local businesses are having a hard time (I run one myself) but this was just horrific customer service on top of hubris. I’m an extremely busy person so I’ve just been wearing my hair up until I had the time to get it fixed by someone I trusted....
