If you like cozy little nooks, this is the place for you!

The hotel is very clean and polished, updated, and well maintained, yet has that quaint, warm, old-time feel (think rotary phones, reading in the library with cushy armchairs, warm fireplaces, soft blankets). It was perfect for a one night winter getaway from Vancouver, BC.

The hotel and surrounding, very walkable and boutique-y village embodied COZY, and were all decked out for the Christmas holiday season. We had a fireplace in our room and the bed had the softest sheets ever. When we checked in, there were chocolate chip cookies and mandarin oranges at the front desk, and tea and (good!) coffee in the library. Continental breakfast the next morning was excellent.

Our room faced Bellingham Bay, but the inn is right next to the train tracks, so the train horns are really quite loud in the middle of the night, but I suppose that can't be helped. We stayed on a Saturday night, and heard no noise during the evening/night except for the train.

Hotel has dedicated parking lot at rear of property. Before we checked in, we found street parking (free) without difficulty.

I will definitely be back!

P.S. No idea what some of the other reviews are complaining about re: staff and management - all the staff we encountered were genuinely friendly...

Perfect place in the middle of Fairhaven quaint little town. We come to Bellingham every summer to have a little getaway from Seattle. Mainly to go hiking on Mt. Baker which is shorter driving distance than traveling from Seattle. We have stayed at a couple locations and was pleasantly surprised of this boutique hotel. We had a room on the 3rd floor and it had a little balcony where we had a great view of the water and could hear the seagulls. Nice way to end the day with a glass of wine. The room was very quiet and we could hear the trains go by but it wasn't bad. The other locations we have stayed at you could hear the train louder than at this place. They don't have a restaurant but they did offer bakery muffins and coffee available in the lobby. The bathroom has large counters which I appreciate. ||We enjoyed the complimentary glass of wine at Galloways next door and enjoyed an appetizer before going out to dinner. Shopping and restaurants are right outside your hotel. The only thing they could improve on is the coffee in the room. More like coffee in tea bags. The restaurant Ovn Pizza is next door and D'Anna Cafe is a wonderful Italian restaurant in Bellingham where we had excellent dinners. We...

I've stayed at the Fairhaven Village Inn four times now, and I love the location, rooms, guest happy hour, guest patio and baked goods and coffee in the morning (not to mention the cute Library with books, games, and seating area). I love that while there are some upgrades, they also keep with the charm of the Village. Parking there and then walking to everything in Fairhaven Village makes it super convenient. Since my last stay, they changed the room locks to key pads with codes. I loved not having to worry about losing or deactivating a key card.

The only irritation, that was not their fault, was the seagulls squawking non-stop. It wasn't as much of a bother when we were enjoying the guest patio (bring your favorite beverage and enjoy - there are glasses and bottle openers in the rooms) because we didn't notice it as much with the band playing at the Village Green across the street but if you don't close your patio door at night, it can be extremely annoying. Lol!

During the summer on Saturdays, the Village Green (park) across the street offers outdoor movies and I love having Galloways connected to the hotel. Great for apps, wine...

We had a nice room facing the West. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony. There is a nice view of the islands and sunset….once you get past the large commercial building below. We enjoyed having the large slider. The metal chairs on the balcony don’t have cushions and weren’t too comfortable when we sat out and read and watched the sunset in the distance. We eventually brought them inside and put a couple of our small camp chairs out on the balcony. Some folks have mentioned an odor, I think it was some pungent cleaning solvent. We left our slider open to air out. The hotel is perfectly located to explore Fairhaven. We usually stay at the Chrysalis or Bellwether Hotel for their amazing bay sunset views. The train runs right in front of the Chrysalis and there are a LOT of trains. The Bellwether is pretty isolated. The Fairhaven Village Inn is far enough away that the train horn won’t blast you awake. We will be back to the Fairhaven Village Inn.

We love the Fairhaven Village Inn. It's located just across from one of the most perfect little parks in the world and centrally located in beautiful Fairhaven, WA. We had our wedding in the park and had the Fairhaven Inn as our "home away from home" for the out-of-town guests! It could not have been more perfect. The rooms are well appointed, FRESH, and you have access to anything you need within a block of the hotel. The outdoor patio area (located above the hotel check-in area) is a MAJOR bonus. We set-up our wedding party out in this space, overlooking Bellingham Bay, with music and wine, it was surreal! The staff at the Inn are beyond hospitable and helpful. It's the kind of Inn / Hotel that you could spend a night at, or a week, there is always something to see and do in this neck of the woods. Forget about the chain hotels, choose the Fairhaven Village Inn, you will not be disappointed.
