Last week during Queens Feast/Restaurant week we decided to give Old Stone a try. The restaurant itself is in quaint Belmont and the exterior and interior is very nice. When we walked in there wasn’t anyone at the host desk, when the male host arrived he was abrupt and maybe not rude, but was definitely not welcoming and it didn’t set the tone well for the meal. Our server was ok, but if you are in a service role and work for tips, I think you should be pretty dang outgoing and friendly, he was not. Also, we kept having to ask for refills, when you are dining at a nicer restaurant and your glass is half empty, just refill it and don’t make the customer wait until it is dry and asking for more tea. We ordered from the Queens Feast menu, which I would think the restaurant would consider their best and tastier food. We did add an order of the dinner bread, it has parm on top and I think they should stop adding the parm. The bread was killer by itself! The parm didn’t really melt well or adhere to the rolls and was just not great/greasy. 86 the parm and it will be better! We had a crab cake and the goat cheese appetizer. The crab cake was flavorful and pretty good, the goat cheese was very lacking. It needed some nuts and a dried fruit with it and honey or something like that. It was just goat cheese and pita basically, very one dimensional and not great. The meal came with salads and we tried a Cesar and wedge, Cesar was good and the wedge was ok, but the dressing on the wedge was like straight buttermilk. For our main dish I had a filet with baked potato and it was quite good. My wife had the chicken with an Asiago sauce and that was the toughest most overcooked chicken we have probably ever had in a nicer restaurant. That chicken had been cooked way way way too long! Overall the meal was lacking and this restaurant does not warrant another visit. When your meal is well over $100 you expect a little refinement, good service, and tasty ingredients. They didn’t deliver. To those about to dine, don’t waste your time. Skip it. You can get a steak at a chain restaurant just as good and probably cheaper. Along with better chicken options and maybe nicer staff!

I had a great dining experience at Old Stone Steakhouse. The staff were warm and friendly, the environment was cozy, and the food was the star of the show. I had a filet mignon medium rare and it was incredible! Cooked beautifully, with butter melting on top for extra rich fatty goodness.

I don't write a review to bash a restaurant or their service/server, I write honestly about my experience and how the food was based on my opinion. I honestly read some reviews regarding this restaurant being that it was the 1st time that my family and I would be dining there. It was compared to St Elmo's in Indianapolis. The ambience was very nice, the servers all very polite, But after 2 hours of being open and you run out of crab legs on a night that you're serving crab legs as a special, that's problem number one. If you call yourself a steakhouse, I would also assume that's your specialty & your Chef knows how to cook a steak. Both my daughter and I ordered our steaks well done. We informed our server "Caroline" just no pink. She stated that would be "well done" no problem. We received our steaks and they had to be sent back. Not just once, but twice and on the 3rd time the "Chef/Line Cook" butterflies both our New York strip steaks, just to make sure that it's done! Pretty much unacceptable. Our server apologized, but nothing from a manager? I've been to St Elmo's, Gibson's in Chicago, and The Precinct in Cinn. just to name a few Great Steakhouses. This incident would have been brought up to management, by the server and corrected by a manager the first time. Nice try, but No. The spinach salad & Bacon wrapped Scallops were very good. This was the only bright side for me. We were there to celebrate my Grandson's birthday, but after the entrees, we just decided to skip dessert. If dining here, just don't have high expectations. Sorry no pictures of steak, just a bit aggravated.

I gave this business a 2 star rating for several reasons. First, I ordered a chicken breast dinner which was supposed to cost $18 with one side included. I asked if I could choose the Brussel sprouts as my side. The waiter said sure. I also asked for an extra wedge salad. When I received my bill. I was charged $28 for the chicken because it was an up charge of $10 for the brussel sprouts and $4.75 for the wedge salad. The waiter never mentioned that the up charge would be $10. I also mentioned that the brussel sprouts were way too sweet and he offered another order of brussel sprouts. He should have said I will remove the $10 charge which I never told you about when you ordered. Also, if you are going to charge me $10 for sprouts why not use the salad as my side and not charge me $4.75? Second, we ordered a cinnamon roll as dessert it was burned all around the border and so hard you could only eat the inside swirl. Well, my husband ate the inside swirl because it was of poor quality and tasted horrible I refused to eat it. This was also a $10 charge. We again mentioned it to the waiter and he offer to bring another one. We did not want another one because it was horrible. The charge should have been removed. We paid for 3 meals, 3 iced teas and 2 desserts for a total cost of $135.00 and we still added a $10 tip reluctantly. I am a small business owner and I understand that every business is struggling in this economy to say the least but the business tactics that is being used by restaurants are purely dishonest. Let customers know when there are up charges. If you are going to charge higher prices offer great quality of food. Also, my Mom paid in cash. The waiter did not bring her change back. He returned to the table and asked if she wanted her change back. Return a customers change and allow them to give you a tip. We would have possibly left a $20 tip if the food and service had been great and she may have left more if he had returned her change. Prices are through the roof, quality and service has been lowered yet we are being asked to leave exorbitant tips. If you are in the Charlotte area go to Fresh Chef in Cornelius. Prices are the same quality of food and service is excellent. Everything is made in house from salad dressings...

Good morning, I was wanting to write in about an experience we had last night. I booked a reservation on 11/16 for a work Christmas party to take place at your establishment for 6 people on 12/12/2023. When we arrived we were first placed in a booth that barely fit 4 of us, in no possible way would all 6 of us have fit in that booth. I admit we are not small individuals but still even if we were smaller a booth would not have accommodated us. We asked if we could move to a place that would fit us and we were immediately told no by the host so we asked the server if we could sit anywhere else, we were told we could sit outside but it was very cold even with heating lamps so we did not want to do that option. After that we were placed at the community bar table which did fit all of us just was a little crowded with the bar behind us of course. Once we moved we had the bartender as our server who tried to help us but she couldn’t put much focus to our group since she had several other people at the bar. It took quite a while to get our food and when we did get it the sirloins that me and 2 others got tasted completely awful and one of my coworkers got the wrong side, we never were asked about the food or checked on so never really had much of an opportunity to speak up about it. We all took our food in boxes home though barely touched. I’m a little disappointed because we were told how amazing this place was, this was our first time there and we always try to keep our parties around the Belmont area as that is the middle spot for most our employees to go and we were very excited to try out your establishment only met with disappointment. We put all of our food on one tab and the alcohol was separated between those of us who drank, in total we spent over $300 at your establishment and got not great service and not good food. The seating was the thing that threw the evening off, I booked way ahead and the overall experience wasn’t what I was thinking when booking a high end steak establishment. I am just writing this to make sure it gets to the right person, I also attached a copy of the receipt from last night so you can see in food alone we spent a significant...
