After a long day of yard work, we decided to order online from this cafe that had just opened I believe 3 days ago. We have not gone into the space so this review is only on the ordering, delivery and food.
We ordered online directly from the cafe and it was easy. Extensive menu with appetizers, soups, salads, noodles either fried or soups, fried rices, curry's, popular Thai plates, sides and desserts. Each selection has options and add on suggestions. It also inquires about allergies and lists them all i.e. gluten, dairy, peanut, soy, shellfish etc... Right away we received a call from the cafe confirming we wanted a dish made Thai style as its very spicy - we appreciated that clarification! I now notice online that they made an adjustment as to the Spicy category, it lists: super hot, hot, medium, mild, no spicy. Great idea.
The food was delivered piping hot in less time than specified. Another good thing as we were hungry.
Here's what we ordered: steamed pork dumplings were very flavorful, shrimp tempura had a light crispy batter, chicken noodle soup had a flavorful broth and we had ordered vegetables and the noodles which came separate and was a generous amount, the chicken pad Thai was also very good.
Good job to this new Cafe! We will be eating their food again and this time we will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was really prepared to like this place based on the reviews. And perhaps if I had ordered off the regular menu I would have been happier. There was a special menu insert of duck dishes - not something on paper but a sleek insert that appears to be a more permanent offering. I ordered the crispy duck soup with daikon and cilantro and rice noodles, crispy duck and other ingredients. All things I like. However the soup was almost entirely noodles, oodles and oodles of noodles. There were no pieces of daikon or anything else solid in the broth. Although the broth was very tasty, the only thing floating in it besides noodles was a small sprig of cilantro. The crispy duck was a duck leg laying on top, all in one piece, the crispy skin preventing any mixing of duck and broth flavors. I had to deconstruct the leg which meant instead of duck flavoring the soup, and the soup profusing the duck they didn't exchange juices which have been in much more flavorful and interesting. It's what I expect when I see a duck soup. A thoroughly uninteresting meal, high on empty noodle calories and low on nutritious content. If the duck in the broth exchanged flavors I might have been okay but it was boring. I was very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy experience at Thai Noodle Cafe on Belmont Ave was unfortunately quite disappointing. Despite the promising ambiance and welcoming atmosphere, the food failed to meet expectations. The Alladin dish, touted as a specialty, the chicken notably overcooked and dry. It seemed as though they had been left sitting out for too long, resulting in a lackluster texture and taste. Additionally, the overall presentation left much to be desired. While the service was polite, it couldn't compensate for the underwhelming quality of the dishes. Overall, my visit left me with the impression that Thai Noodle Cafe has some work to do in terms of consistency and execution in order to truly deliver on...
