For Bemidji standards this is incredible By major cities it’s still good. the pho is very interestingly rich, but very bland. Everything else that’s not pho is actually quite good.
However, it is more Thai than Vietnamese, but that makes it kind of special. Sweet and mild fish sauce, for example. But I know small town people can’t tolerate fish sauce. 🤷
Came here a few times They can get very overwhelmed with very few customers however it’s understandable cause a lot of Bemidji people are very frustrating to deal with. However, that shit will get them shut down in a month anywhere else.
I came in there once and the owner’s wife was cooking and serving By herself. She did the best she could, but you got a hire more staff y’all during lunch/dinner get a family member or friend.

Read moreI finally got around to trying this place out and I wasn’t disappointed. My date and I started with the fresh spring rolls (shrimp) and they were amazing—so fresh. Didn’t even get a picture lol. I got the pho chín. The cilantro and green onion were great in the broth and they brought a small plate with extras for the bowl. My date got the rice bowl with grilled pork and everything was well-prepared with great flavor (we tried each other’s meals).
The seating arrangement was comfortable. Placing the order was straightforward and low-stress; you just grab a menu at the door, find a table, place your order, and they give you a number. We waited maybe 10-15 minutes for everything. Mellow music. This is a great place for conversation and a refreshing meal. No leftovers this time haha but...

There were two tiny pieces of very tough old tasting beef, and six quarter sized pieces of cabbage in my pho (I had the beef brisket pho with veggies). I subbed rice for the rice noodles, which was an extra $3. That was it in a bowl of broth - the broth was good to me, hubby thought it was bland. People rave about the peanut sauce with the fish balls, but it was not available to us. The fish balls were quite tough and salty, it seems they fried them too long. The pork egg rolls were excellent, but the sauce was just jarred and very sweet. I wanted so much to like this local place, but probably won’t be back unless it’s to get the broth to go and make my own...
