Normally this is a great location and they get our order right. We're in and out and happy. This time around, Sunday March 9 between 1:30 and 2? It was chaos. There were maybe 15 people waiting inside the restaurant that normally handles rushes pretty quickly.
Today, however, there were 2 employees behind the counter who had zero immediacy and neither seemed able to follow directions or do things in an organized manner. There were people who had ordered 3-5 drinks and one drink got made from that order, then it sat for 10 minutes, while other drinks from other orders were made and then one more from that order and so on. So there was just a pile of drinks sitting behind the counter (not even in the pickup area) waiting and melting.
I also witnessed one of the employees deviate from what was on the order ticket because someone asked her about an ingredient. She then apparently incorporated it into a drink. The employee wasn't even sure what she had made and couldn't quite communicate it to the customer who was concerned that she not be served peanut butter due to severe allergy. I think that customer ended up taking a drink that was not made how she wanted it just to get out the door.
I ordered online and one of my drinks got made after someone who had come into the restaurant as a walk-in had one of theirs made. The other one had sat on the inside of the counter (not the mobile pickup area) the entirety of the 15 minutes I was in the store. I get being a little overwhelmed but if there's no order and no paying attention to what has actually been ordered, it's pure chaos.
Maybe there is some kind of training that tells them when to make which kind of drink or something but, if you're not moving quickly, and people's drinks are just sitting for 15 minutes, it might be a lot more prudent to make things sequentially. Customers would be a lot happier. Everyone in the store was testy and frustrated by the time I left and people who had been waiting before I walked in were still waiting as I left... even after people who had walked in and ordered at the counter during that time had been served and left.
Management may need to re-train (or re-think)...
Read moreThursday night, April 22 around 8 pm we went to the Smoothie King at City View on Bryant Irvin Rd. Another customer went in right before us. We got in line behind her. The employees there did not acknowledge her, nor us. There was no, "We'll be right with you." What were the employees doing? They were sweeping and cleaning, and they kept right on cleaning despite us standing there. Well, that allowed us to really observe things. The male employee had sweated through his clothes, and he was wearing a disposable mask that looked to have blood on it. Also, he kept touching his mask. The female employee went off to the back with cleaning supplies while he kept on cleaning in the front. Okay, so minutes later when he got done, he used hand sanitizer. I would have rather he washed his hands with soap and water, as hand sanitizer only swishes things around, and he started servicing the lady in front of us. I told my husband that I wasn't comfortable with him making our drinks and we left. We left and went straight over to your Smoothie King, the one at 8907 Benbrook Blvd. This is the one we always go to except we had gone to the City View one because we had just left the Target near there. Anyways, at the Benbrook one ALL of your employees have always been awesome and quickly greeted us no matter what hour of the day. The store is always clean. I have actually never seen them cleaning, but it's always clean. The customer comes first at that store. The orders are done quickly and taste good. Your employees are always professional as well. The two stores are vastly different! One we will continue to go to as we always have been, the other one we will never step foot in again! A plus plus to the employees at 8907...
Read moreI usually don't write reviews on here. But this time I feel like I need to let the owner know that they're compromising quality. I've always ordered my smoothies from here. Neat place with quick service. However, today I found out that the new employees couldn't make the Nutty Super Grain. It tasted like a slushy from a kids party. No peanut butter, way too watery, tasted like plain almond milk and coconut water?
I've had at least 15 of these from this same location. Never had an issue. I could see there's new employees, but please make sure proper training is...
