Great little gem. Service is friendly efficient and super nice in general.
The food
Smoked Trout Sanwich: Delicious and balanced in texture and flavour. Not fishy and just straight out a fantastic sandwich to start the day with. Really a great pick. Thanks to Harmony that suggested it.
B. A. T. : I want to love this more than I actually did. Everything tastes great about this croissant. Something is off though in regards of its identity. The texture is not super appealing and a little too creamy for my taste. But back to the flavor; Nothing really dominates to flavor palette profile, which can be a good thing…. Not this time, not for me, not this time. I’d say needs to be tried ones and if you love it, you found another pearl in this great place.
Oregon Roll
HANDS DOWN FANTASTIC!!!! Super decadent And yet Elegant in the flavor and sweetness. Nothing is overpowering and yet the hazelnut butter perfectly compliments the delicate texture and delicate flavors of the Marion berries.
This is a must!!!!!
This place got me for good and I’m looking forward to come here...
Read moreThe buttery, flaky house-made pistachio croissant was delectable, as was the equally-flaky hazelnut-glazed marionberry jam lightly-filled Oregon Roll. The latter was/is a unique and delicious take on a morning roll and def deserves a spotlight. Actually, both do! These baked goodies were flaky in texture, unique in flavor and though flavorful, there is no one overpowering spice or ingredient...just a lovely blending of complementary goodness. (IMO, their Oregon Roll far outshines the "other" ubiquitous and "famous" CO roll. I would strongly suggest trying this one and judging for yourself.) The coffee was great too...full espresso bar available. I also spied a variety of flaky breakfast croissants in the case and I'm looking forward to trying each of them, as well as their other house made baked goods (yes, there's more!). If you loved and miss Foxtail Bakery, I promise you'll love Cafe des Chutes. They carry GF goodies from Blissful Spoon too, which is thoughtful since good GF pickins are slim around town. Opens at 8, plenty of...
Read moreEverything was just standard, nothing stood out. Service was polite, but slow to get through the counter. You get buzzer so if you have a kid and with your spouse, they have to go in and get the drinks, the door isn't easily finagled with two drinks in tow. (He should of brought one out at a time instead of dumping my drink everwhere). The outside eating area is nice and has a covered area too. The selection is pretty slim, bur the offerings are good. Not into sandwiches much so I just had banana bread, which was good. Both groups behind me in line made comments about this place being more expensive than the Bay area, I didnt find it too bad. I got a pice of banana bread, 12oz pistachio latte and a 16oz Americano for about 15ish after tip... seemed standard to me. The coffee was delicious and...
