I rarely write Google reviews, but I'm really peeved at how much smack is getting talked about this store and the guy who runs it.
I've been here three times. The first, the owner of the store was a completely sweet and gentle guy to a little disabled girl who was shopping for games. You could tell that he genuinely cared about her having games and enjoying them.
The next two, he was always helpful, cordial and nice. He also knows his stuff, which is a must for running this sort of store. Furthermore, his prices are ludicrously low for some products, competetive to what you'll find at GameStop and even online!
Honestly, I think people give this place and the guy who runs a bad rap because he isn't a bright-eyed, bushy-tailed sap who's trying to sell you stuff. He's a nice, quiet, down-to-earth person who obviously cares about games and cares about his store.
I've shopped at dozens of retro game stores in my time. Most price gouge. Most have obnoxious employees. Game Quest is a calm, quiet place with a great selection and great prices. Right what it says on the tin! My only gripe would be a lack of Sega Saturn games, but honestly, those are hard to find anywhere to begin with.
Whenever I'm in town, I always try to drop by this store, and I'd encourage everybody else to as well. Plus,...
Read moreWow people, So much negativity where it isn't deserved. Horrible customer service? Horrible selection? More expensive then game stop? You people are on some serious drugs if you believe this. Game quest has a huge selection for all consoles going all the way back to the atari 2600. Game stop only has stuff for current systems. Every time I have bought something from game quest it has been cheaper BY FAR compared to game stop. Come on, game stop still wants 20 bucks for a game that is 8 years old and known to be a horrible game. (sonic 06) To all those who bash this store you guys need a reality check, I will go to game quest over game stop ANY DAY OF THE WEEK. The staff has always been friendly and helpful for me. So in closing, to the people posting horrible reviews, pull your head out of your ass, be respectful to people, and stop supporting corporate bullshit and keep shopping at mom and pop shops like game quest. To anyone who is curious about this store, Please go in and check it out, especially if you have older consoles. I highly recommend this store as well as there east...
Read moreI've been to this store countless times. I'm always looking for a gem that I can't live without. Odds are if I can find it anywhere it'll be here, or online. I've never had a bad experience with the owner. As described in some of the other reviews he's a genuine, down-to-earth kind of guy. I trust no one else to handle my systems for cleaning or maintenance. He has always treated me fairly and I've never once felt cheated.
To those of you who have had a poor experience with him I invite you to try something, show a little respect. The store owner is human and deserves to be treated such. Just because he doesn't tie himself in knots to please the entitlement crowd doesn't mean he's a bad person or a poor business operator. Those who feel cheated by the price he offers when you try to sell him something; take the same merchandise to the local pawn shops and tell me you'll get a better offer.
I love Game Quest and will continue to support this unique...
