Another great brewery + food truck situation in bend. We were there on a Monday and the food truck situation was minimal but they had their food served inside. With the great weather, amount of people there, and space, I was hoping they would have activated more food options. Taco truck was open and got to try the mushroom tacos... Surprising good! Service was pretty self serve but the staff was super kind. Did not go above and beyond but served drinks fine. Great atmosphere for outdoor activities. Best part of the venue and a great place to bring the family outdoors and enjoy views of the mountains. The service + food I'm sure gets much better on prime days but calling this out for going on a Monday and being in town on vacay. Pro tip - the exit to get there makes it super difficult to take a left at the off ramp exit. If you see there is a big traffic build up just take a right and flip a u turn so you can. Get around the huge back up.

There is good and bad depending on when you visit. Being loved to death at popular times; kids, dogs and long waits for food and beer. They take the virus seriously. Crux food has been marginal from the start so eat outside at one of the food carts for better food and faster service. Wide range of beer styles including malty and hop forward, Belgians and ciders. They do have a pervasive diacetyl problem (off flavor tastes of butter/butterscotch). Honestly some of the poorest beer quality Bend, but most people don't mind, care or notice. In summation come to Crux during off times and you'll love the service, view and atmosphere. Come during a summer Saturday and you're gonna fight for everything. 3 stars for diacetyl, people with poorly trained dogs AND counter service combined with marginal food.

We live here in Bend so we have frequented Crux on numerous occassions. This past visit on 8/28 we took our company to Crux who were visiting here from Seattle. They had heard so much about Crux that they wanted to try it out. We arrived about 2 pm in the afternoon, early enough to beat the Friday afternoon/ evening rush. We were seated outside where the waiter took our drink order. The beers came in a timely fashion, along with the quesadilla for the kids. Soon after we ordered another quesadilla for the kids and sandwiches for the adults. While we were waiting for our order to arrive we ordered tacos from the taco truck for appetizers. When our lunch order still hadn't arrived we ordered more tacos while we waited for our sandwiches. The kids quesadilla still hadn't arrived. We had four kids six and under with us and they were starving. 45 minutes lates their quesadilla arrived. Meanwhile we ordered more tacos from the taco truck while we waited for our lunch order to arrive. By this time we had checked with our waiter 3 times to make sure he had placed our order. Each time we were assured our order would be out shortly. Finally, we called the waiter over and told him we couldn't wait any longer, we needed to leave. He apologized for the poor service and said he would bring us our sandwiches to go, at no charge. So we waited some more, and no sandwiches. We told our waiter we needed to leave, and he apologized some more and said he would take some beers off the tab since we never got our lunch in a timely matter, and that he would bring us our sandwiches to go. The sandwiches never came, as we were in the parking lot they delivered one sandwich to us (not even the full order). We were very disappointed in the service that day and certainly will not be taking any company there...

Let's first talk about how this amazing Brewing Co came to be ❤️ Larry Sidor - Brewmaster Extraordinaire and Paul Evers - wunderkind and Creator of TBD advertising teamed up their brainpower to convert and remodel the old AAMCO Transmission shop into the amazing Crux Fermentation Project that we all get to experience today. There is a ridiculous aesthetic beauty and design that flows from the interior to exterior. Reclaimed wood, industrial metal, a fully cooled extended tap system, Brewing equip that makes you weep with envy and they recently converted a shipping container into an incredible exterior service beer 🍻 bar. The love, passion, commitment that has been invested into the creation is just as prevalent in their beers 🍻. I'm a crazy fan of their Half Hitch - the list is amazing and even more incredible is that they are constantly experimenting with new batches. Food is top notch with a charcuterie plate that is one of the best in town - both for aesthetic and deliciousness 🤗Smoked grapes 🍇 - What 😜💕💕💕 The warm pretzel with their signature dipping sauce is perfect on any evening. They have a great choice for kids also. They have cornhole boards that you can check out the bean bags. Seating, beautiful custom metal fire pits, and live music 🎶 make sure to check their FB or events page. They have also brought in multiple food carts - Mauna Lau - Hawaiian 🌺, El Sancho and his amazing taco's, DaKinz Grind and the delish shaved ice 🍧 with ice cream in the center. 😍and their very own brick fired pizza 🍕.

Did I mention stunning Cascade Mountain Views and watching the sunset 🌅.

A must visit and I know you'll fall in love like we do every...

I have not have an overall good experience here in the 3 or 4 visits I've made here. Today's was the worst and I won't be back. Crux has various places to sit and enjoy the beer, indoors and out. One of the choices is the benches along the outside wall which capitalize on the views (gorgeous) and the sun-warmed wall (wonderful in the cooler months.) If you choose to sit here rather than a table inside or tables in the tented area outside, you need to get your own drinks if you don't want to wait quite a while. This should be fine, but it is always a pain. You stand at the bar, hoping to be noticed, and then are allowed to place your order. The bar servers are busy, but I have been many places where the bar is busy and have gotten good service. I have not yet gotten good (friendly) service at Crux in this situation. I must say, I have gotten good service when seated inside. Today I ordered, the bar server (a consistently surly employee in my experience) rinsed the glasses and left 2-3 tablespoons of water in my wine glass, then poured the wine. When I pointed out the glass had water in it and I would like to have him pour another, water-free glass of wine for me it pissed him off. He was rude and didn't apologize for not noticing there was still water in the glass. He did pour me another glass of wine without rinsing the glass. I bought the wine and one beer and it cost $14, which is on the high side, even for craft beer, even in Bend. I definitely won't be back. There are too many great places to enjoy...
