I went to this restaurant for the first time with high hopes. Unfortunately, we never got to eat anything and had a bad experience. We waited 45 minutes before discovering they lost our order. My 1-star review is based on bad customer service. We understand that mistakes happen but this was handled poorly. Read on if you want the details.We arrived at noon and saw a line outside the door. We had a 1 pm pedicure appointment at Crescent Nails next door, and thought we’d be fine on time. At 12:15, we got to the register to place our order. While sitting, we kept noticing people walk in and sit and get their orders before us. Finally, at 12:50, we tried to find a server to ask about our order. My daughter took our ticket and went back to the register to ask, while I flagged down a server that had 2 sandwiches with her. I asked if she was looking for our ticket as my daughter had just taken it to check on the status, and the server very rudely responded “No, I am not!” Shortly after, my daughter came back out and said they lost our order and would refund our money. That was it. No apology or offer to make up for the inconvenience. I asked for the manager, and for some kind of compensation we could use at a future time, like a gift card. The person at the register said she was the manager and they don’t have gift cards, and she already refunded me, and there was nothing she could do but expedite our order through. I was treated by the staff and the manager very rudely and when I even asked him about it was given an even more route answer. I will not be going back there. Owner did follow up and offer to makes things right. Would have been nice if the manager or anyone would’ve just offered to remake my food after driving down there trying to find my DoorDash. Had to go ahead answer the phone in the first place all of this could’ve been avoided as well. Cheba hut tries to not take responsibility and clean they gave it to DoorDash. At Chiba hut answered their phones or treated me as a human and simply offered to give me my sandwiches and not said to contact DoorDash and try to find them This once again could’ve been avoided. Read moreWe had three online orders in a row mishandled resulting in cold, mushy sandwiches. After the third time, I contacted the store via Instagram and was offered a refund for the most recent order.
I had not asked for a refund and my intention in contacting them was simply to make them aware that they were having issues with expediting orders placed on their app so they could improve things for future orders. However, although my experience was somewhat dismissed - "our crew is usually top notch..." - I was impressed that a refund was offered.
After over a week, the refund had not shown up. I again contacted them and they told me to contact my credit card. My cc explained it was the merchants issue and not mine so I let Cheba Hut know what they said.
To say they were dismissive is an understatement. Even when I requested copies of the receipt and then explained that it showed no credit, and even I could tell the refund was done incorrectly, they dug in and insisted I was wrong and then behaved like I was being somehow demanding and ridiculous. It was insult to injury and so insanely unprofessional and rude.
They could have and should have double-checked on their end that it was done correctly. Instead, they continued to be unprofessional and unkind.
I finally contacted Cheba Hut Corporate - included all the missives (the photos of the supposed receipts) - and within 24 hours not only had a full refund but a kind apology explaining that Cheba Hut Bend had done the refund incorrectly.
