Read moreDear Mom has been a staple for my wife and I for just over a year. Every time we’ve been there, up until recently, the food and service have been fantastic.
We just sat down for dinner, our one date night we can really afford each month, and left feeling really disappointed. We were there for an hour and a half, and did not receive our drinks until 40 minutes in, and I didn’t receive my yellow curry until 50 minutes. I had to remind our hosts for both.
The yellow curry was unfortunately really watery and tasted completely different than it usually does- sadly not in a good way. It was the first time I haven’t completely finished it.
Our hosts didn’t check on us once, and took 15 minutes to even take our order. This is not the Dear Mom we know and love, and hope it’s just an off night for the staff- but for the steep price of $65 for this treatment (two entrees and drinks), we’re feeling unsure that we’ll be back again.
I’m still leaving 5 stars because we have loved this place every other time we’ve been here, and again, we’re hoping it’s just an off night, but this really is unacceptable and frankly disappointing.
To the owners, or whoever it is that looks at these- please know this review is not from a malicious place, we just really want you all to stay as amazing as you’ve always been, and feel like it’s right to let you know about...
Read moreThis is my honest review based on one visit which was take out. First of all the restaurant is a nice looking place and the people working there were nice and helpful. The bad news is that I think it’s overpriced, but that seems to be the case everywhere. We ordered to share one salad, one noodle dish, one curry and a side of rice, all for $65. If you don’t believe that’s overpriced then skip ahead. Second disappointment. The salad says it has grilled shrimp, but then you pay extra for shrimp. Which were 3 total med size shrimp. The salad had a nice flavor, but definitely spicy. The noodle dish was a good portion size, but a third of that was bean sprouts. It didn’t have green beans that could tell, a small amount of ground pork, and only 3 or 4 very small pieces of roasted pork. The yellow curry was also a good portion size, but mostly just the broth with lots of carrots, but no other vegetables and good size chunks of tofu, but we paid extra for chicken which there was none. The description also said it’s served with rice, but we paid extra for that as well. Anyway, not happy spending a lot (imo) on take out for just ok, and not getting what you pay for. Probably...
