While on my travels I stopped in here at The Original Pancake House looking for a great breakfast to have as I love Breakfast!!!!
I will say I do not eat eggs or meat yet I will endulge in a panacake or two or six!!!!
When pulling it was a bit busy however I do not mind waiting to The Original Panacake house that I have been excited to try for a while. When looking up Bend, Oregon this restraunt was the first to appear and thats mostlikely because Google knows I love breakfast with all the food reviews that I have done.
I was greeted by two amazing women who where kind and gave off such amazing Vibes!!!!
Jenny and Dusty have a part of my heart forever!
There was a 25 minute wait yet the wait was so worth it!!!
Once my name was called "Kristopher with a K" my Heart melted!!!!
I came running in because I did not want to miss my spot!!!
Sat as soon as I came in with water waiting at the table for me which I LOVED!!!!
Such a beautiful place from the design to the staff to the food!
The food was so good I forgot to take a picture of it when it came out I was overwhelmed with Joy and Happiness from the smells.
Today I ordered:
Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice $3.50 for the small The color was perfect with pulp you could smell and taste the freshness!
Hawaiian Panackes $12.75 Fresh buttermilk panacakes filled with crushed pineapple and lightly dusted with powered sugar. Served with whipped butter and hot tropical syrup with a total of 860 calories
Potatoes $4.00 Fresh Fried house potatoes that are NOT I Repeat NOT Hashbrowns!!!!!! Side note I love house potatoes over hashbrowns. They are not seasoned so you will need to add some salt pepper and one of the many choices of sauses availble. Tabasco (Green and Red) Tabasco (Chipolte) Tapatio Cholula Ketchup
The orange juice was so fresh and the color was dark as it should be and NO Sugar added! I LOVED the Orange Juice!!!
The potates where perfectly cooked with some crispy parts which made for the perfect crunch to soft ratio. I did add some salt and pepper as well as did a bit of all the sauces around the plate to have a taste of each.
Let me tell you about these Hawaiian Panacakes... You do not really need syrup to eat these, they are soft fluffy and made to perfection.
Every bite has pineapple and each bite brought joy to my pallet. My taste buds where in such a delightful state with every bite. I did try them with the Hot Tropical Syrup which is a fruit blend made in house... I will not share that secret as it is an inhouse receipe. SOOOOOO GOOD! It was like eating the best piece of pineapple cottoncandy panackas you can ever imagine. That is the only way for me to explain how the syrup and the panacakes taste together. I also tried with the regular syrup and my choice over all is the hot tropical syrup.
I am so pleased at not only my experience and interaction with everyone I am just taken away at how amazing the food is.
Overall if I was able to give them 10 Starz I would!
The cleaniness of the restraunt is 10/10 The restroom is 10/10 The dishes that food served on 10/10
Everything is way above par by far!!!!
The interior has dishes lining the tops of the molding which gives such an equiste look and feel to the place.
They also have an indoor fire place which is just so cool!
Overall I recommend without a doubt stopping into The Original Pancake House in Bend Oregon, wether you are a local or a passing through.
So worth the wait my mouth is extremely grateful!
Thank you again for The...
Read moreI came to The Pancake House with modest expectations—just a decent stack of pancakes and a quiet morning bite. What I received instead was a masterclass in mediocrity, served with a side of hostility.
Let’s start with the food: the pancakes were, to their credit, slightly above average. Nothing groundbreaking, but enjoyable enough. Unfortunately, that faint glimmer of culinary competence was immediately overshadowed by the rest of the meal. The eggs were nearly inedible, the sides tasted like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp since dawn, and the presentation was utterly uninspired.
But what truly made this visit unforgettable—for all the wrong reasons—was the service. Our server, whom I won't name but is unmistakable in both presence and demeanor, greeted us with a condescending attitude that quickly soured the entire experience. Menus were snatched, questions were answered with passive-aggressive tone, and every small interaction felt like an imposition on her time. It was as if being seated at a table was a personal affront to her. Only at the end, when tips were on the line, did she attempt to conjure some semblance of friendliness—far too little, far too late.
I get it—working in hospitality can be thankless, and not everyone in this line of work is passionate about service. But there’s a difference between having a bad day and making sure every guest around you knows it. This was the latter, and it was impossible to ignore.
Unless you’re ordering takeout and can avoid any interaction whatsoever, I’d strongly recommend steering clear. There are too many places that actually respect their patrons—and themselves—to waste time...
Read moreI've been to OPH in Addison, TX, many times and visited another Dallas location near Love Field. I've also been to the Bothell, WA, location, and as of March 27th of this year, this location in Bend, OR.
Having tried their famous apple pancake plenty of times before, I decided to order the banana pancakes. I insisted my girlfriend order an apple pancake as it was her first time to visit OPH, and you simply have to try one on your first visit.
Long story short, she nearly devoured the apple pancake with minimal help from me, and she's a small girl at 105 lbs! The food was excellent, everything was cooked right, and of all the times I've visited OPH, that was the very best apple pancake I've tasted.
They also got the little things right. My girlfriend ordered hot chocolate, and they top it with whipped cream the way we like it (didn't do that at Bothell location). I ordered a side of 2 eggs, one sunny side up for her, one over easy for me. They were cooked exactly as I ordered them.
If you've never been to an OPH, expect a wait. But what I like about this place, you don't have to wait inside. They give you a pager that looks like a thin remote control instead of the old giant drink coaster pagers.
Our server was great. She was friendly, tended to all our requests in a timely manner, and she had the perfect balance of checking in with us and not doing it so often that it would become annoying. She got more than 20% because she earned it
I recommend this restaurant to others who are looking for a good breakfast place, whether you're visiting Bend like us, or if you're a local who's...
