I frequent a fair share of waspy uptown coffee shops. this spot is in class of its own. baristas are well trained and respectful. they had an ironic but tasteful sense of fashion. like one lady wearing a night gown as a T-shirt or another guy with a comically thick scratchy wool sweater. 90% of the staff had blundstone boots on their feet. the coffees are appropriately sized. no 64oz Big-Gulp-achinos. homemade chai tea - the spicy shet. bitchin outdoor gas fire pit. good view of broken top from outside.
but full stop when it comes to the baked goods. I’m certain that I’ve eaten 100+ unique croissants in my life. I’m a baked good aficionado. I seek out places like this when traveling. the ham and cheese croissant from THUMP is the best I’ve ever had. crème-de-la-crème. I was audibly moaning when consuming said H&CC. It was perfectly paired with a cappuccino and sunday hangover.
Thanks for the incredible service, experience, but above all: Thank you THUMP for the beautiful...
Read moreI am becoming a bigger coffee enthusiast as the time goes and I learn more from what is quality coffee and what is just coffee. I randomly found this coffee place when I typed in top coffee roasters in Colorado. Then I found out that they roast in Bend, OR. I ordered a decaf and Ethiopian Washed online. I will say the complexity of taste was absolutely amazing. Decaf is really hard to get right and they made me fall in love with decaf. The ethiopian washed was just as good. Both bags lasted me for about a month and the taste stayed very well with the Ethiopian one but of course the flavor left on the decaf but that is okay but it was still good! I would love to visit this place one day in person to experience their in store experience. I would highly recommend this place as they know how to roast...
Read moreCoffee was OK. Three stars because they are supposed to make and serve coffee and they do. but the place had a giant sign on the wall about how they are making the world a better place. What? You make the world a better place by serving pretentious overpriced coffee to people sitting around modelling their latest fashion purchases from REI and pretending that they are getting ready to go out and take on the wilderness because the dressed up and drove their SUVs to get coffee? How the heck is that making the world a better place? Would the world be a worse place if they had to make their own coffee? Would society crumble if they had to go to Starbucks? Would have given the place 4 star for the coffee, but knocked off a star because they are so self-righteous and...
