Aroma is open again after what seemed like several years closed and we are so happy there's delicious Indian food available in south Solano County again! Everything we've had at Aroma is tasty. My partner and I often get the same thing whenever we go to Indian restaurants but we feel confident when trying new things at Aroma that it will be a good use of our money and we'll enjoy the dish. Even my father who says he doesn't like Indian food because he doesn't like stews and sauces (eye-roll) says he likes the food at Aroma! They've decorated a back patio where they seem to prefer patrons sit, but don't worry, they have portable heaters if the day or evening gets chilly. JP, who I believe is the manager, is also an attentive waiter and all the staff are friendly and helpful. My two critiques are that while the chai is very flavorful and it takes a while to get an order so I think each cup is is made fresh, it is often burnt. But I still often order chai because it is so tasty. And the host table is now in the back of the restaurant and when people walk in there's no indication that they should walk to the back to be seated and the host rarely notices when people have walked in and are standing by the...
Read moreAroma used to be my go-to restaurant for delicious Indian food and superb service before the fire, so I was eager to try them again. I was super disappointed in the quality of the food. We ordered Matter Paneer, Chicken Tika Masala, Garlic Naan, and Veggie Pakoras. The chicken Tika was unusually sweet. The curry sauce of the Mattar Paneer was different, maybe canned tomato based? Metallic and very tomato forward. The filing of the veggie pakora was tasty and spicy, but the fried outside tasted like old oil and was very greasy. The garlic naan was literally just plain naan with an entire jar of raw garlic thrown on it. Like someone forgot it was supposed to be garlic naan and thought throwing raw garlic on plain naan would be the same. Nope. Inedible. Their food used to be made with love and that is no longer the case. Sadly the quality is not the same and we'll keep going...
Read moreGot off of work and looking for a place to eat. Almost all the restaurants close at 9 in Benicia then I found Aroma. This restaurant open until 10. The restaurant was empty except for my wife and I. We didn't look into Yelp or anything and took a chance to eat here. We ordered the Masala Tiki Chicken, Coconut Shrimp, Garlic and Cilantro Nan, Mango Lazi, Mango Chutni, and a appetizer which I forgotten the name. When the food arrived, I took my first bite of he Nan and I was in heaven. The best Nan I have every had is here. Bite after bite of nonstop eating the food we ordered. Everything was on point with spices and flavor. I had to order an extra order of Garlic Nan to finish up with the coconut shrimp. This is my favorite Indian restaurant now. I want to thank all those restaurant that closed at 9 for they directed me to...
